You shared that truth so very clearly SophieT, we see the clear delineation here of those who lean on their own understanding, holding to an outward form of godliness denying the Power vs. the remnant who are in vital, personal, Holy Spirit filled relationship.
they have no idea whatsoever what we are talking about, so they mock and show themselves to be the ones with the actual problem

Jesus did not ever preach the same nonsense they taught.
what's your point? we know that

smh

you are just # 1,000,001 who thinks everyone who believes God still heals, also go beyond scripture

not interest in your little hobby horse and nothing you are going to say is new under the sun

you wanna mock other Christians even if they are wrong? go right ahead. that too has consequences even if the people you mock are wrong

I put "the Learner" on ignore as we are recommended from scripture- "from such, turn away", they have nothing to offer and only detract from the walk we are required to proceed in.

I hope so, although from the rant and multiple posts the other day I could not see a desire to learn, only rant and cherry pick verses that support his error.
We see that a lot here, and it really detracts.

Any church that teaches one must speak in tongues is against the Bible Doctrines.
that is true, you do not have to speak in tongues as equally anyone who teach the gifts of the Holy Spirit has ceased to is against Biblical teachings.

Correct......Stephen and Philip operated under the authority of and agreement of the Apostles.

Jesus said "all authority has been given to me", any authority anyone walks in must be His.
He was very clear in John16 of what would be in these days of Holy Spirit being brought to be with us and in us.

I once challenged a person WOF to ask God to heal his sight. He stop wearing glasses and got into car wrecks. He kept telling the police God healed his eyesight. Too bad the eye doctor disagreed --- they took his drivers license away.
I saw a bunch of indians walk in a straight line while chewing bubble gum.

Therefore all indians do that.

Please do not factor in truth.
The cessationist could blow a gasket

Exactly
You stole my thunder.
He came to my mind also.

Why do the cessationist make such fools of themselves?

Because they listen to men.
Not God

Makes sense ...a powerless gospel originating in the powerless

"Thinking themselves to be wise, they became fools" comes to mind, Godly wisdom is to Godly people.

I believe God heals; yes, God heals, not humans. Actually, genuine miracles by humans hands are very rare, even in the scriptures. We seem to think that's all people did was go around healing and performing miracles in God's name, and that somehow we're missing the boat. Miracles are the exception not the rule. Now we have every nitwit with the gumption to start a ministry going around performing "miracles." Did God suddenly change the way He does things, or did we change it for Him?

"Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"—Luke 18:8

Faith, not miracles. ;)

I don't know who the 'we' are that go around thinking all people did was go around healing etc? but even those I know who firmly believe in God's healing hand, do not think that way

a bit prone to exaggeration then? or perhaps travel in tight circles of certain beliefs?

we experience the biggest miracle of all every single day of our lives! what is that you say? the actual regeneration of our spirits! our spirits awakened to the reality of God our Savior! the stirring in our souls of His Spirit and the love in our hearts for Jesus

yeah, miracles every single day actually. maybe some of us need to kick ourselves in the who ha and understand what God is actually doing cause He is supernatural and spiritual (things we are not and even though His being is unseen we know His life...we handle His power in our bodies every day or we would all die...read some of what Paul says about moving and living and having our being IN Him)

and as an aside, I have experienced direct intervention in my life by God...yes...healing and merciful interventions and safey

I don't think I would believe if God did not make Himself real to me, and even that, by His mercy alone

No, God has not changed...but the pervasive spirit in this world KILLS belief and causes people to be ungrateful and they cannot see what is directly in front of them. further, people tend to experience how they perceive God...approaching God, in doubt, does not produce much according to the Bible..there is genuine, searching and painful doubt...but I don't mean that.

and yes there are (sadly) plenty of fakes and they have their reward in the here and now. One day Jesus may just say 'who are you? I never knew you!"..Jesus name is all powerful and the devil and his angels tremble ... but even miracles done in His Name are not the same as KNOWING Him. Do you know Him> and I don't mean are you saved....

IMO, many would benefit from a sincere prayer asking God to open their eyes...both physical and spiritual

If only I had a nickel for each time I've heard "yes, there are plenty of fakes." When someone says this of course, they're certainly not one of them—it's always someone else.
