Someone once said that the last surviving acceptable prejudice is anti-Catholicism, which I tend to agree with. Today, however, ALL Christians are being discriminated against and persecuted in myriad ways by the thugs in charge (as I call them).

Anyway someone here said the following

The pope has tremendous influence among those who believe that the Catholic Church is the one true church of Christ. What these gullible Catholics have failed to notice is that Pope Francis is a RADICAL LEFTIST GLOBALIST (Communist would be appropriate) whose main purpose in life is to undermine and destroy Western and Christian societies and nations. So while non-Catholics may dismiss his evil words, Catholics are torn between listening to him or what their church teaches. He should have been forced to resign long ago, but that may never happen.

and I said

Not all Catholics are "torn" as you say

It is like anything else: If you follow Jesus and really, really care... about HIS commandments... you will not be fooled by a heretical pope.

I have studied Catholicism rather in-depth and no heretic can be pope

what i don't get is

WHY is Francis, an obvious heretic, allowed to "be one"? [ a pope, that is]

Today, my comments are as follows:

I think many Catholics see that Francis... uh... isn't "right" or whatever, although lately, it seems he is moving toward being "more conservative" (??) but God knows.

In any case, I have been studying this kind of thing for some time, albeit not so much of late and I still haven't found out (yes, I need to try harder... hard to find time) what the rubric (rules/regs of the Church) isconcerning a heretical pope.

A heretic cannot be pope. That much I do know.

So how is it that Pope F is still considered Pope? and who is the real one? Even Benedict said some "questionable" stuff.. though he OKd the use of the Traditional Latin Mass which even non-Catholics were happy about

It is very interesting to me that at the very same time in history, the US is going through a very similar thing: The US has a fake president (heretic). Biden's a heretic because he doesn't follow the US Constitution (to say the least). One example: he upholds Roe v Wade which not only is "bad law" as even some liberal attorneys have called it but is un-American [understatement]. The states are supposed to have law-making power, not the Justices.

Anyway...

2 fake world leaders... sigh

so... does anyone disagree w/ anything here?
I am an ex- catholic.. So when you say a heretic cannot be pope all i can say is a person cannot rise up the hierarchy of the catholic religion without being a heretic to the Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ..

I praise the LORD that he lead me to read the Holy Bible.. And that He guided me in understanding what i needed to understand at the time.. I got out of that catholic religion and became a Bible believing Christian.. Thanks be to God..

And thus they disqualified as catholics because it is part of the catholic religion that one must believe in all the official doctrines / teachings of the catholic church..

so true

but that is partly the fault of (big shock) clergy

the clergy in general these days strike me as selfish, lazy, unconcerned about the problems of their flock, etc.

It is hard to believe in a church where this is so... esp when you know the Word fairly well.. and u can see that clergy are NOT following Jesus.. which admittedly is NOT easy but whatever..

well, a few things

Catholics ARE Bible believing. It is a myth to think otherwise. In fact, if you goto Mass every day (not justSunday) you will hear in 3 years time, the entire Bible (minus some so-and-so-begat-so-and-so stuff...etc)

I learned Scripture from doing this, although I also have read the Bible... the New T many times over.

Anyway, I like the way the Catholic Church was the only Christian Church that did not cave to the culture and condone artificial birth control, the use of which has moral implications and that is why it is forbidden. And actually, the abc "issue" is what makes a lot of fake Catholics... I mean, if you reject one doctrine of a Church, you will reject another and another until you just begin to think that YOUR thoughts and your beliefs are totally right and no one who disagrees w/ you is... "Christian" or whatever.

so there are a lot of cafeteria catholics

I'm not Catholic. That said, the only church I can bring myself to go to is Catholic traditional Latin mass. Everything else is so woke, so liberal, so effeminate. I just can't do it anymore.

Hello @JesusWhereRU, I find Pope Francis interesting (to say the least) as you never know what to expect from him or, quite frankly, what he REALLY means whenever he speaks

Then again, I'm not a Roman Catholic, and most of my friends who are (conservative) Roman Catholics, have problems with this Pope and would hardly describe him as "interesting" (in fact, what he says and does has oft times caused them to be frustrated and/or angry). If you told me, for instance, that on October 31, 2016, a Roman Catholic Pope would be the kickoff, keynote speaker at the international event that began a yearlong celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, I would have NEVER believed you, but that's exactly what happened :)

As a result of what he says and does, Pope Francis has been the target of both praise and consternation from everywhere in the world, both the secular side and the sacred side, as well fodder for those who make their living making the rest of our laugh. So, in honor of the latter (humor) group, here are a couple of videos about Pope Francis, the first one from our friends at Lutheran Satire called Frank, the Hippie Pope, and the second one, a video of Catholic college students making comments about the same video while they watch it.

Enjoy :giggle:

BTW, in case you don't know how the Lutheran Satire videos are produced, it's normally worth hanging on for an extra 20 seconds or so for their final, humorous thought (which always follows the credits) :)

Lutheran satire often picks on Lutherans as well. Usually truth couched on humourous hyperbole.

Catholics ARE Bible believing.
There is one thing Catholics need to remember as they read threads on CC that involve Catholicism - those of us who disagree with Catholicism - the Catholic system (doctrine, and the activity of the 'heirarchy') - do not "hate Catholics" or any such similar thing.

Our statements/"warnings" (that is what they are) against Catholicism - the system - are not directed against the 'laity' - only the system and the 'heirarchy' - the "upper Echelan" of the system.

We are not against Catholic people.

"Quite frankly, we would like to see them all saved."

But the truth remains - that we try to get them to understand:

~ Catholicism was not "set up" by God.

~ The Catholic Church is not 'The Church' that Jesus started.

~ The Pope is not a "stand-in" for God on the earth.

~ Catholic people have been deceived into believing that there is a requirement for salvation beyond what the Bible says and that Catholicism is that requirement.

Is it possible for a person who attends a Catholic church to be saved? Sure - it can happen - it is just not very likely if they are following the Catholic recipe for salvation - which is not biblical.

They have to be willing to trust in Bible/God/Jesus only - without clinging to Catholicism and/or its teachings.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

The Pope and Catholic 'heirarchy' are actually quite evil - on the side of Satan.

And, Catholic people need to wake up and realize that Catholicism is not where they really want to be...

Catholics ARE Bible believing.
If so, then good! And, if they will study the Bible earnestly at home - without interference from the interpretation of the 'heirarchy' (which is currupted and not biblical) - they will discover the things I said in my previous post to be true.

Gary,
Can you name me a protestant church that isn't dispensational and woke? What is the most conservative, non-dispensational protestant church that you know of?

Hello @surfer14, here are two denominations that come to mind that ~should~ be what you are after (though I cannot speak for each of the local churches within these two denominations).

PCA Home - pcanet.org (Presbyterian Church of America/PCA)
The Orthodox Presbyterian Church (opc.org) (Orthodox Presbyterian Church/OPC)

Just to be clear, there is another Presbyterian Church out there, the Presbyterian Church USA/PCUSA, that is nothing like the two denominations above. In fact, it has moved so far away from the pale of Christian orthodoxy that I believe that it is far more like a Unitarian church than a Christian church now, so beware.

God bless you!

To be Bible believing would mean to give up Catholicism. So no. Catholics do not reject the Bible, but it is generally irrelevant to Catholic doctrine and practice. Take devotion to Mary as an example. That is clearly not taught in Scripture, but it is a primary aspect of Roman Catholicism.

well, a few things

Catholics ARE Bible believing.
The catholic church doctrine of purgatory is not in alignment with the Holy Bible.. The catholic doctrine of purgatory teaches that after people die they will go to a place called purgatory to have their sins purged.. The catholic doctrines also teach that if people pray for these dead in purgatory their time in purgatory will be lessened.. Meaning that purgatory is not a place of peace and joy..

This doctrine of purgatory declares the insufficiency of the Atonement of the Messiah Jesus to cover / pay the price of a believers sin.. And in doing so anyone who believes in the official catholic doctrine is denying that the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ pays the penalty for sin.. Denying that, ensures they will not be covered by the Atoning blood of the LAMB of GOD who takes away the sins of the world..

The grace of Jesus is an all or nothing gift to be accepted.. Atonement is not earned by people for their sins by going to a place called purgatory and paying for their own sins their..

So again i will state without reservation the catholic religion is Not Christian and anyone who professes to be a catholic Must agree with ALL official doctrines of the catholic church.. They Must believe in purgatory as the catholic church has established it in their religions doctrines..

It is official catholic doctrine that ALL catholic popes from the start of the church have been INFALLIBLE representatives of God.. So any teaching or actions carried out by catholics under the command / authority of catholic popes down through that religions history MUST be accepted as true and good..

No catholic can accuse any former pope or current pope of being corrupt in regards to their teachings.. If a catholic declares the actions or teachings of a pope to be false / fake they are no longer catholic..
