Hey guys, i'm struggling tonight with memories of painful things that happened last year and early this year. I'd appriciate prayers that i not dwell in the past, but move on and keep living the life that's been given to me.
Thanks.

Hi!

Are those painful memories about some of your past sins?
If yes, then I can relate to your pain.
Someone said that we are the cruelest judges of ourselves. I know I am. That person also said that we must accept our past, what we did, and transfigure it (find a redeeming meaning in it).
Some painful memories come back in order to humble ourselves; to stop us from judging the sins of our brothers, have patience with them and not displaying an attitude of self-righteousness. Our boast is in Jesus Christ (not in us) who loves and waits patiently for all to repent and come to Him. Not all repent and when some do repent, it doesn't happen when we want; the heart and mind of man are a complex mechanism unknown to us. Only our Creator knows and understands.

Thank you so much for your words and for the songs. If you could pray that I would be able to move on and not dwell on the past, that would be wonderful.

Some of the memories are of past sins, but most of them are of poor choices that my dad and a friend of mine made.
Yes! You are so right! I know that God has used bad memories of my sins to bring me to repentance. It's not fun, but it is nessesary and he knows what he's doing. Thank you!
