No problem broski
I just wanna see where you're at! The way I take revelation is I dont know how I take revelation. Guess you could say im PANMILLENNIAL, however it pans out, works for me!
What do you believe the FIRST RESURRECTION is about in Rev 20:4?
yes brother I’m not claiming to know anything either lol so
I’m with you I am only here to discuss and like your saying get other thoughts and views and try to figure out exactly where I’m at myself with understanding it
honestly I think all of us are ever learning and growing by design we probably will Never know a lot until we’re made complete but I believe pursuing him is found in pursuing understanding of his word that’s just my own place and position in my own walk with him we grow as we pursue the face of Christ
my Position on the first resurrection I would just share much of the same scripture I have in this post and believe
for. My part that the first resurrection is when a person believes the gospel and is baptized for remission of sins that includes them into the church . Together with the martyrs and ot saints. All believers . But I think some miss this part our new bodies are made for heaven not earth again
We pass through the natural first and we have a body made for the earth but the resurrection gives us a body for the kingdom in heaven
“So also is
the resurrection of the dead.
It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory:
it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.
There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but
that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
The first man is
of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord
from heaven.
As is the
earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and
as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
And
as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”
1 Corinthians 15:42-44, 46-49
We’re going to be raised in a heavenly body made for a heavenly existence until the restoration of earth in the end I believe that’s the first resurrection the people in the kingdom they don’t have to be raised from the grave for jidgement we accepted the gospel now and we’re given life and passed from death already
What I’m mean is Jesus never said we would die , wait a long time and then be resurrected that’s Old Testament promise .
if we believe he was telling us stuff like this mart had thought her brother was going to be raised after the end like most Jesus responded to her like this
“ Jesus said unto her,
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And
whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
John 11:25-26 KJV
this is not something you are taught elsewhere in ot scripture or epistles only the gospel makes statements like this or this it’s the word of life or “book of life “ in revelation
“Verily, verily, I say unto you,
If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.”
John 8:51 KJV
Or this
“Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24 KJV
only Jesus is able to say things like that and only a believer understands or can understand those who hear what he said and believe like Peter
“What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:
the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
..Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go?
thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.”
John 6:62-63, 68-69 KJV
I believe that this man is part of the first resurrection
only Jesus could tell a man facing certain death in mere moments a man who believed the gospel of the kingdom he has heard this
“And Jesus said unto him,
Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
Luke 23:43 KJV
The simplest way for
Me is to say it’s the same thing as being born again it means we died and have been raised up into a new life in Christ and we are going to heaven until this day when heaven and earth come together again
“And I saw
a new heaven and a new earth: for
the first heaven and the first earth were passed away;
and there was no more sea. And I John saw
the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And
I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,
Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
Revelation 21:1-5
I believe the people of the first resurrection are reigning in heaven with Christ until then and the new earth comes forth after the judgement of the world so the first resurrection is accomplished by faith and includes martyrs who died for faith the ot saints of faith and the church I think it’s depfferent from the final resurrection of the dead if we believe we’re not part of that group facing condemnation the last day we’ve already been raised from death
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and
shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24
second death and that judgement has no power over repentant believers salvation is from the judgement of the dead
