In the case of those in Isaiah 24, those who are weaned from milk and are drawn from the breast are they whom the Lord can teach knowledge/meat and understand the meat of doctrine.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
Sure but WHAT IS the Meat?

That God will forsake you, lose you, disown you, reneg on His promises and fail to complete the redemptive work He began in you?

People who cherry pick, in effect do not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Who do you think is cherry picking verses? Should it not be obvious that certain verses belong to certain topics, and no one is expected to quote the whole Bible or the whole NT to make a point? As I said, salvation is multifaceted and each aspect of salvation is a subject in itself.

Hi Magenta, What are we saved from? Thanks to the Lords sacrifice, we are saved from having to serve sin (should we choose to do so). Prior to the Lords sacrifice, I had no option but to serve my carnal inclinations. Understanding this, should I then choose to continue serving my carnal inclinations, I have then rejected the Lords sacrifice of Himself so that I would be a new spiritual creature, rather than a carnal creature. This is where OSAS adherents leave the picture, choosing instead to continue believing in the basic principal that they are saved from the world, no matter their continuing to serve their sins. They in effect refuse knowledge and remain in milkville.
Remaining in milkville as you call it... how does this equate to losing one's salvation?

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—
our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

This is like asking how everything the universe functions. The meat comprises the magnitude of all that God is. Do you remember the part where the Lord informs His disciples that He has a lot more to tell them, but that they were not then ready for all the meat? I gave one simple example about OSAS adherents who are not ready for increased knowledge and understanding. If you cannot accept the basics (milk), you then cannot accept the more complex (meat).

There are numerous verses that describe those who fall away. Falling away means to choose this world and its lusts over the Spirit. Rather than spin salvation being multifaced and leave it without explanation while holding on to the milk, I acknowledge the Words other facets (its meat) where I can loose my salvation should I choose to love the world and its lusts.

Are you suggesting we/some/any have the capacity to fully comprehend the magnitude of all that God is?

You have to want to be saved from the world and its lusts. If you love the world, then even though you think you want to be saved from the world and its lusts, the reality is that you really do not want to be saved from the world.
This is very basic, and yet there are so many here who cannot grasp this. Those who do repent from their carnal inclinations are they whom the Lord takes on to greater knowledge and understanding, while those who do not repent from their carnal inclinations are they who remain in the dark.

Those of us who remain in the Spirit, the Lord will become one with; and so, yes, eventually they who become one with God will fully comprehend the magnitude of all that is God.

Eventually? So this idea of being able to consume meat is a future, not present, ability?

You seem to be contradicting yourself here.

So your main concern if about falling away and losing salvation. Do you really believe that God simply lets a Christian "fall away" without doing anything about it? And do you really believe that the gifts and calling of God are without repentance" (no change of mind on God's part)? So before we talk about falling away and losing salvation, we need to focus on what God actually does when He saves a sinner by His grace. That will also reveal how genuine Christians are "kept by the power of God" and only false professors love the world and its lusts.

Those weaned from milk and the breast, having acknowledged the basics. and therefore having repented of their carnal natures are they whom the Lord can teach knowledge and understanding of doctrine. That's the Word in Isaiah 24. I have repeated and rephrased this on several posts here, so what is so hard to understand about this?

A true Christian believes in all that Christ says in His Word. And not only does the Lord not want any Christian to fall away, but He also wants everyone to believe in all that Christ represents, which is love, truth, and justice. But now that is another topic. The topic here is milk vs. meat, where many here prefer to continue on a milk diet, as it is so much easier to ingest, without having to chew. So all I can say in closing is Chew the whole Word, and not just drink in what is easy to accept.

I have not read all your posts here... and it is unreasonable of you to assume I may have.

Which verse in Isaiah 24 says that?

1 Behold, the Lord makes the earth empty and makes it waste,
Distorts its surface
And scatters abroad its inhabitants.
2 And it shall be:
As with the people, so with the priest;
As with the servant, so with his master;
As with the maid, so with her mistress;
As with the buyer, so with the seller;
As with the lender, so with the borrower;
As with the creditor, so with the debtor.
3 The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered,
For the Lord has spoken this word.
4 The earth mourns and fades away,
The world languishes and fades away;
The haughty people of the earth languish.
5 The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants,
Because they have transgressed the laws,
Changed the ordinance,
Broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore the curse has devoured the earth,
And those who dwell in it are desolate.
Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned,
And few men are left.
7 The new wine fails, the vine languishes,
All the merry-hearted sigh.
8 The mirth of the tambourine ceases,
The noise of the jubilant ends,
The joy of the harp ceases.
9 They shall not drink wine with a song;
Strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.
10 The city of confusion is broken down;
Every house is shut up, so that none may go in.
11 There is a cry for wine in the streets,
All joy is darkened,
The mirth of the land is gone.
12 In the city desolation is left,
And the gate is stricken with destruction.
13 When it shall be thus in the midst of the land among the people,
It shall be like the shaking of an olive tree,
Like the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done.
14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing;
For the majesty of the Lord
They shall cry aloud from the sea.
15 Therefore glorify the Lord in the dawning light,
The name of the Lord God of Israel in the coastlands of the sea.
16 From the ends of the earth we have heard songs:
“Glory to the righteous!”
But I said, “I am ruined, ruined!
Woe to me!
The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously,
Indeed, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.”
17 Fear and the pit and the snare
Are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.
18 And it shall be
That he who flees from the noise of the fear
Shall fall into the pit,
And he who comes up from the midst of the pit
Shall be caught in the snare;
For the windows from on high are open,
And the foundations of the earth are shaken.
19 The earth is violently broken,
The earth is split open,
The earth is shaken exceedingly.
20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard,
And shall totter like a hut;
Its transgression shall be heavy upon it,
And it will fall, and not rise again.
21 It shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord will punish on high the host of exalted ones,
And on the earth the kings of the earth.
22 They will be gathered together,
As prisoners are gathered in the pit,
And will be shut up in the prison;
After many days they will be punished.
23 Then the moon will be disgraced
And the sun ashamed;
For the Lord of hosts will reign
On Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
And before His elders, gloriously.

Hebrews says doctrines of repentance is milk. Doctrines of judgment are milk.

And it says something about what is meat, too:

Hebrews 5:9-14
And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest [ "according to the order of Melchizedek,"] of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need [someone] to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes [only] of milk [is] unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, [that is,] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

If we would eat solid food, we should be talking about Christ and Melchizedek, not about each other or about believing God or facing judgment. We don't need yet another thread on insecurity-of-the-believer

meat is not about us; it's about Him.

Thank God His Holy Spirit is my Teacher , and He knows when to reveal things to me Amen...
He started me on milk , and now He has me on the meat , still drinking the milk to help me wash the meat down...
There are many who have a head full of biblical knowledge , yet do know not how to walk as our Lord would have us walk...
Great is His Faithfulness , and we see this in some of us who are slow learners ...

Yes, repentance is a basic milk tenet. They who have already gone past the basic milk tenet of repentance are they whom the Lord can teach knowledge and understanding to, to chew meat.

Correct. Melchizedek was a Christophany in that Christ appeared to Abraham as the mysterious King Melchizedek (King of Righteousness and King of Peace). And Abraham offered tithes to Him, while Christ offered him bread and wine (a pre-indication of the Lord's Supper and the New Covenant). So there is a lot of meat in the High Priesthood of Christ after the order of Melchizedek, which replaces the Levitical Priesthood.

The Bible says that Abraham looked for a city (the New Jerusalem) whose Builder and Maker is God. But we are not told when he received this vision. It could have been when he met Melchizedek, who was king of Jerusalem.
