While working my way through Acts chap 12, I couldnt help but grin and laugh a little at two particular scenes. First, an angel of the Lord appears while Peter is bound...first "smoting him in the side" which I could see as a good kick, then telling him (I comically paraphrase here) "Get up you fool and put some clothes on!" It's not till the angel leaves Peter outside the gate that he comes to his senses and realizes he's not dreaming. Unfortunately its not over for our poor Apostle. Arriving at the house of Mary, he knocks on the door and once the girl inside realizes who he is, leaves him there locked out and runs to tell the others.
Has anyone else found a bit of God's humour while reading the Good Word?

For me, this verse is the closest the Bible comes to being humorous.

Quite a few times, usually in the OT.

One such time is when Elijah set a challenge to the prophets of Baal. 1 Kings 18.
He chides them by making fun of their god & his inability to act.

26 So they took the bull given them and prepared it.

Then they called on the name of Baal from morning till noon.
“Baal, answer us!” they shouted. But there was no response; no one answered. And they danced around the altar they had made.
27 At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling.
Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”

Hello. I was just reading I Kings last week, and passed by the passage you mentioned. The CJB in fact says v. 27 this way: '... Maybe He's daydreaming, or He's on the potty, or He's on trip...'

When i first read how the part was translated in english, i could not believe it was so=).

5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit." - Proverbs 26:4-5

I see these lines as a bit of humorous commentary about how you can't really win against a fool. Doomed to failure either way.

For sure. Elijah mocking the priests of Baal is my favourite. "Shout louder, maybe your god is asleep! Or maybe he's gone to the toilet"
