No your doing exactly what the Catholic do when they tell you the church is built on Peter, when they tell you about the eucharist, when they tell you about Mary . They do exactly what your doing . They also cannot take you to a verse that SAYS what they believe.

So here, Paul says he was "called" to be an apostle, and the Corinthian was "called" to be holy.

And, in Eph 1:4, he wrote that God chose US (believers, defined in v.19) to be holy and blameless.

And in Acts 9:15 the Lord Jesus told Ananias that Paul was:
But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.

So Paul viewed his election as a calling. And believers as chosen and called.

Further on in 1 Cor 1 Paul wrote this about calling and election:

26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,
29 so that no one may boast before him.

And in all these verses, election is for service. So, believers are called (invited) and chosen (elected) to service for the Lord.

Now, where are the verses that say that salvation is by election? Nowhere. There are none.

This thread isnt about election. Start one since you keep bringing it up.

The burden is on you . Your the one positively claiming regeneration precedes faith . Which verse says this please. Not inference but actually says this?

Get it ? Literally it doesn't say that does it ? Could God not say it ? does he have to use inference so that theologians would need to help him ?

No you dont believe it It says they in the flesh cant please God, which faith does Yet you say men in the flesh can please God with faith

Again . Do you have a verse that SAYS they CANNOT believe the Gospel ? I'm really not being unreasonable here . This is how it works. We should only believe what it says when it comes to these basic essentials.
 
Romans
5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
5:15 But not as the offence, so also [is] the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, [which is] by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
5:16 And not as [it was] by one that sinned, [so is] the gift: for the judgment [was] by one to condemnation, but the free gift [is] of many offences unto justification.
5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification of life.

You are EXACTLY RIGHT, for once. I haven't proved nothing.

What I have proved is that the Bible says what I believe. But you have already said "it doesn't matter how many verses I give".

So you have admitted that you are NOT interested in what the Bible says

And I understand why. The Bible refutes your talking points. You have NO Scripture that says what you believe. Unlike myself.

There are 2 verses in Acts that says clearly that people "refused to believe". That clearly indicates a choice.

And there are 3 verses in Revelation that says "they refused to repent", again a choice.

But calvinists don't like the idea of choice. I think it scares them. But I could be wrong.
