i heard a osas pastor say one time " some folks are saved, they just don't know they are"

what a ridiculous statement.

so, as much as we disagree with much, we hopefully can agree that osas is a joke.
Yes, ridiculous. But the problem with arminian OSAS is that the people are in the risk of feeling falsely secure in their salvation based solely on what they have done. Not what the Lord have done. They thought they were smarter than other people by conjuring up some "ability" of making a "free will choice". Do you see the pride coming in there? The pride of "finding God" and become "holier than thou".

  • An Unlicensed Driver who drives is subject to punishment, but a Licensed Driver who does is not.
  • An Unsaved person who commits iniquity is subject to punishment, but a OSAS person who does is not.
Denial isn't just a river in Egypt, bro ;)
Who said person who sins will not be punished?

once again you or slanderous ways are your defeat,

you don’t know us man, stop thinking you do, repent, that is my suggestion to you, have faith in Gods power to change, and stop telling Gods people and him he has no power

Feigning ignorance is no way to win a debate: I've said repeatedly there's a difference between:
  • falling down into sin and reaching up to clasp the uplifting hand of Jesus, and...
  • climbing down to it, plopping down in the midst of it, and swatting away the hand of Jesus while waving a stupid OSAS license in His face.

There's mercy evermore for the former, but only the Lake of Fire for the latter, so I suggest you get busy burning that OSAS license as furiously as Bill Clinton burned his draft card.
You keep doing this

you claim we must follow the law. Yet when backed to a corner you admit no one can.

then you continually say a man born of god can fall deep into habitual sin, when John said it’s impossible,

your lack of faith in the power of God to change his people is over the top man. You have a phony faith,m yur faith is in self not God, I pray you wake up and see it,

Thanks for the reminder...I can't keep up LOL I assure you, among all of us here, I am the most opposed to "salvation by works".
yet in almost every post you make, this is the root of your message, salvation by works,

wake up man

So that pastor is saved? He does not speak for true Children of God, he is an impostor posing as a christian.
it don’t mean because you have a fanatic you reject eternal security of the soul

while osas supposedly is a calvinist doctrine the concept (once a person is saved they are always saved, Ie once a person is given eternal life, they have it) is sound biblical truth

LOL Like OSAS folks who condemn Calvinism but cling to TULIP’s “Irresistible Grace”
And this is better than you pumping your Cheat as the pharisee, refusing to get on your knees like a tax collector?

how will it feel when those people who sadly cling to that untruth, is in heaven while people who continue to try to learn salvation are in eternal darkness? It won’t be that funny then my friend

If anyone wants to know if they’re saved, all they have to do is read 1 John 2:3-4 KJV.

Sometimes it seems people prefer the lies and ambiguity of a false prophet rather than a plain Thus saith the Lord”.
So you got this down, but you can’t hear chapter 3 vs 4-9 where we see why those people keep commands, because they have been born of God, who ever sins has never even or known God,

way to cherry pick scripture my friend

Arminians proper, yes. However there are plenty of OSAS arminians around. Just check it up through search engines if you doubt.

How can they be osas if they deny eternal security?

Of course these people do not deny eternal security, they differ from arminians proper on that issue. I didn't make that term up, okay. Just type "arminian OSAS" at the search box on your search engine of choice to see for yourself. For example the southern baptists are often said to be arminian OSAS. Didn't we talk about this years ago? The major arminian influence of the OSAS crowd refers mainly to their rejection of "total depravity" and their belief in the "free will choice" of the sinner.

in order to be an Armenian, you would have to hold to all 5 tenents. If you dont, your really not an arminian.

That's the problem with trying to divide the body into two groups as many do. They say if you reject double predestination. Your an Armenian. If you believe in OSAS you must be a Calvinist.

Niether is true. Thats why these arminian Vs Calvin threads or discussions are useless. They do not get to what people really believe, Instead they try to paint people into a corner os being something they are not.

I would not consider a southern baptist to be arminian. They are baptist.

and even baptists in themselves have differing views in some areas. So even trying to put them as a baptist is not really smart. I stopped telling people I was a baptist when I was, Because people would assume I believe things I did not just because I said I was baptist.

Its better to listen and hear what a person says not assume, well they are arminian or catholic or calvinist so they MUST believe this. Thats why so many heated fights get started because of a misunderstanding

My go to verse has been John 6:37 particularly when I was still in school. It is His faithfulness not my own ability. I have believed on the Lord Jesus and received Him.
You know what we can be sure of? Many who thought they had saving faith are going to hell when Jesus tells them to depart from Him “ye workers of iniquity”.

Can we see why 1 John 2:3-4 KJV and 1 John 5:2-3 KJV are so important to us? They show us that we are trusting in a Biblical Jesus rather than in a Scripturally distorted Jesus :)

1 John is definitely one of the favorite books used by people who are against OSAS.

Its strange that OSAS love John 3:16 and use that as their foundation.
I find it strange that they accuse others of cherry picking the Bible — the truth is when they post a verse they think supports OSAS, their opposition says “Amen” (to the verse, not their argument)....

....BUT....

.....when the opposition posts a verse destroying their argument, they pretend they are dead to it  Which sounds like cherry picking?

“ And this is his commandment, That we believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” 1 John 3:23 KJV
Yes, I agree with that, but words mean things:

This verse says “commandment” - singular. This same John in my verses says “commandments” - plural.

Question: What are the other commandments John refers to?

Answer: The Ten Commandments, which the NT says Christians are to obey, according to Jesus, Paul, James, Peter, Luke, etc.

Love is the fulfillment of the law. ( see Romans 13:10)

There you go again, Name Calling people you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THEIR BELIEFS.

Same REASON AS JESUS. He came to Save Sinners, not those who think they are Righteous.

It is all part of the Born Again Human Spirit, HE changed our Human Spirit to where it Always Wants to do what pleases HIM, and it will become dominent over the will of the Human Mind as our Born Again spirit Matures spiritually.

All the time I want to out of PURE AGAPE LOVE FOR HIM, but it is not ME that does it, it is CHRIST IN ME THAT Does It, and apparently you believe something else.

Anything that I do right is CHRIST IN ME, and anything that I do wrong I have to take full credit for those things, and I am like Paul, I am the chief of sinners.

We believe in Striving to OBEY HIS COMMANDS out of PURE AGAPE LOVE FOR HIM. Literally everything you have believed about OSAS is dead wrong.

1 Timothy 1:15-16 (NKJV)
15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.

Mark 2:17 (NASB)
17 And hearing this, Jesus *said to them, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Galatians 2:20-21 (HCSB)
20 and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.
What name calling? I asked questions. You’re allowing your negative emotions to cloud your reading comprehension, friend.

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”

Romans 13:8-10
