I've had the same luck with melatonin. I think that if I don't hit the sack as soon as I feel a little drowsy after taking it, it doesn't work. But sometimes it just knocks me out. Sometimes it doesnt do anything at all. It's a crap shoot lol.
Same here. Benadryl used to knock me out for 8 hours. Now it's a crap shoot as well. I don't like the sluggish hang over effect I get from Benadryl when I wake up in the morning after taking it the night before.

Melatonin works very well for me, I can feel the precious relaxation and drowsiness within minutes, go out and awake about 4 to 5 hours later. I don't use it every night so the body cannot get used to it and stop putting out it's own melatonin. That is what happens with age, the bodies own production curtails. I have a friend who uses 10 mg to sleep.

Well folks, as to getting older, don't we all have to admit there was a lot of stuff about getting older that wasn't in that brochure when we signed up for this life? lol

Oh yea, nyquil affects me the same way. The hangover is horrible lol. I haven't tried benadryl.

Speaking of personal defense... crime seems to have found its way into our quiet little neighborhood. I've lived here since the 80's and there's never been any problems, but last month the cops closed down our street for about an hour because they had a report of a house getting shot at. No one seems to have heard a gunshot though, so who knows. We have a large open area of tall brush behind us and one of the neighbors said she saw a man walking through there, but he might have just been out walking. Also there is someone setting off fireworks at night. One time they did it at 3am. Scary times.

Quick question...

Is it possible to send another forum member a private message?

I see where you can post on somebody's profile page (at least I think that I do...lol), but wouldn't that be read by others who click on their profile as well?

Anybody know?

Thanks.
You have to have a subscription to send private messages (conversation) to another member. However, a member with conversation privileges can send a message to another member who does not and then will be able to respond.

Apparently, you are correct.

Every time that I attempt to "start a conversation" after clicking on the envelope in the upper right hand corner of my screen, this is the message that I receive:

You need a paid subscription in order to initiate private conversations with other members
(and you also get other forum and chat benefits).

This helps protect our system from abuse and also helps fund our site.

A ONE YEAR subscription is only $24 (one time, not recurring), so that's only $2 per month.

A LIFETIME subscription is only $100 (one time, not recurring).

my heart is singing with joy this morning :)
blessed is the name of our Lord

He turns rivers into a wilderness,
And the watersprings into dry ground;
A fruitful land into a salty waste,
For the wickedness of those who dwell in it.
He turns a wilderness into pools of water,
And dry land into watersprings.
There He makes the hungry dwell,
That they may establish a city for a dwelling place,
And sow fields and plant vineyards,
That they may yield a fruitful harvest.
He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly;
And He does not let their cattle decrease.
When they are diminished and brought low
Through oppression, affliction, and sorrow,
He pours contempt on princes,
And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way;
Yet He sets the poor on high, far from affliction,
And makes their families like a flock.
The righteous see it and rejoice,
And all iniquity stops its mouth.
Whoever is wise will observe these things,
And they will understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.
(Psalm 107:33-43)

Good morning Amber, good morning all, hope grand baby Mailman Dan had a good night as well. In a few minutes my online church will begin, 9 CST jglm.org.
The first service is for the mature believers, then worship, then the second service for all.

That is a ministry that really put the pedal to the metal on my walk with the Lord, saw immediate positive results from just changing the way I pray.
The DHT, Divine Healing Training is very foundational to the Christian walk and gets us away from merely being an "outward form" Christian and into doing the greater works as Jesus taught.

As I just finished telling another member privately who messaged me, the $24 subscription is nothing and not really the issue.

I honestly doubt that I'm going to remain on this forum for a long period of time, but I might, if God leads me to.

Anyhow, the reason why I wanted to contact the other member is simply this:

Their profile listed their spiritual status as "unsure", and, because I genuinely care about others, I simply wanted to offer spiritual help if the individual would be interested in the same.

With such being the case, let me just make a public declaration here:

If I can ever be of spiritual assistance to any of you, whether you're currently a Christian or not, then please don't hesitate to ask, whether publicly or privately.

On a lighter note, I not only just finished eating breakfast, but I also followed that up with...

...wait for it...

...ANOTHER SLICE OF KEY LIME PIE!

Yeah, so I'm good...lol.
