This was the guidelines given to the Apostles on how to pray to GOD. It did not mean that the people should recite these words, word for word. But rather that there is the order of prayer, like a letter to the GOD you are praying too.
Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name: This is the section of the prayer, where you are calling GOD by HIS names, acknowledging HE is the GOD almighty, acknowledging HE is the Provider, HE is the saviour, HE is All Knowing, All Loving, the Omniscient GOD, the GOD of Abraham of Isaac and of Jacob, the GOD who created all things, and so on. This is the section where you address the GOD in Spirit and in truth.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is heaven: This is the section of the prayer where you acknowledge HIS kingdom, how HIS kingdom is, and your desire for the kingdom to come home, for this earth to pack up, and for the Celestial to come home. This is where you acknowledge HIS soverignty, HIS abilities, How HE operates, showing that you know the GOD you are praying too.
Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who tresspass against us: This is the section of the prayer that you acknowledge HIS Word, how HIS word is living and active, Spiritual and life giving, that HIS Word is true, and beyond reproach, how Precious HIS Word is to you, The Properties of HIS Word, the Power of HIS Word.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: This is the section where you thank the GOD for HIS chastisements, for HIS corrections, for HIS counsels and you also bring out your prayer point here.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever: This is where you round up the prayer. And then I would say,
In the matchless name of our Supreme LORD Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
This is how I pray to the GOD.
