You've given some good answers here, but I do have to disagree with you on one point.
You said that the lake of fire does not reside on this earth, but Jesus actually taught something different, so I hope that you will consider it.
Jesus said:
"And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. The Greek word which is here translated as "hell" is "geenna " or gehenna, and Jesus said that it is a place "where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched".
Jesus was actually quoting from the prophet Isaiah when he gave this description of gehenna.
We read:
"For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh." (Isaiah 66:22-24)
Jesus said that those who are coming to worship before him, and he will be situated in Jerusalem, "shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh."
This leads us to believe that gehenna or the lake of fire will definitely be situated right here on earth, and, personally, I believe that it will be the actual location of "the valley of the son of Hinnom", which is what "gehenna" literally means.
If so, then we know that this valley is located outside of the eastern gate of Jerusalem, and this would certainly correspond with people coming to Jerusalem to worship Jesus seeing the carcases of those who are burning there.
"Thus saith the LORD, Go and get a potter's earthen bottle, and take of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the priests; And go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the east gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell thee, " (Jeremiah 19:1-2)

First of all, the words "where their worm does not die" does not mean that there are literal worms in hell or that there are worms that live forever; rather, Jesus is teaching the fact of unending suffering in hell—the “worm” never stops causing torment.
The Greek word Gehenna, which comes from the Hebrew name for a place called the “Valley of Hinnom.” Jesus uses this place to paint a vivid image of what Gehenna is like and not that it is going to literally be located in this valley. The Jewish people often associated the Valley of Hinnom with spiritual death.
Second, Gehenna, the lake of fire, everlasting fire, was created for Satan and his angels. And every human being whose name is not written in the book of life will be cast there, which is an eternal place of punishment. That said, this present earth is going to be destroyed at the end of the millennial kingdom, with God creating a new heaven and new earth, which would mean that if the lake of fire were here on this earth, it would also be destroyed right along with it.
The fact is that, the location of the lake of fire is never revealed in scripture. However, I doubt very much that God would put it on His new earth, where the righteous will dwell.

I definitely agree with you that a new heaven and new earth are coming after Christ's Millennial Reign, but I'm not sure what you mean when you use the word "destroyed" in relation to this present earth.
To my understanding, the Bible actually speaks of three different timeframes for a heaven and an earth.
For example, we read:
II Peter
[1] This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
[2] That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
[3] Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
[4] And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
[5] For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
[6] Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
[7] But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

In verses 5 & 6, we read how "that by the word of God the heavens were of OLD, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby THE WORLD THAT THEN WAS, being overflowed with water, perished".
I understand this to be referring to the original heaven and earth that we read about in Genesis chapter 1 that was drastically changed, both atmospherically and geologically, at the time of Noah's flood.
In verse 7, we read of "the heavens and the earth, WHICH ARE NOW", and I understand this to be referring to our present heaven and earth that "are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the judgment and perdition of ungodly men".
In verse 13, we read of a "new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness", and I understand this to be referring to the new heavens and new earth which will come after the Millennial Reign of Christ.
The reason that I'm questioning (I'm not sure what you mean, so it's just a question) your use of the word "destroyed" is because, although there were great atmospheric and geological changes to the first heaven and earth as a result of the great deluge in the time of Noah, it is still the same physical earth that we're on.
Similarly, although there will apparently be great atmospheric and geological changes when our current heavens and earth pass through the coming judgment by fire, my understanding is that we'll still be on this same earth in "the new earth" that comes after Christ's Millennial Reign.
In other words, it will be "new" in the sense that there will be atmospheric and geological changes made to it, but it will still be the same earth.
Do you agree, or do you believe that this earth will be completely replaced with a different earth altogether?
I'm asking because if it's only "new" in the sense of undergoing certain changes, which seems to be the case, then I don't see the necessity for the lake of fire to disappear from being upon it.
Anyhow, I hope that you understand my question.

Yes, there will be a 1,000-year Millennial Reign of Christ upon this earth at his second coming, even as people like Daniel, John, Paul, and Peter foretold.
For example, we read:
"I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. " (Daniel 7:11-12)
The prophet Daniel not only foresaw a time when "the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame", but he also foresaw that "the rest of the beasts", with a "beast" being representative of a "king" (Dan. 7:17) and his "kingdom" (Dan. 7:23), having "their lives prolonged for a season and time".
The prophet John foretold exactly how long this "season and time" will be when he wrote:
Revelation chapter 19
[19] And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
[20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
[21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

In Revelation 19:20, we see "the beast" being "cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone", and this is the fulfillment of what Daniel wrote in relation to "the beast" being "slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame" (Dan. 7:11).
In Revelation 20:2-7, a 1,000-year timeframe is mentioned 6 different times.
During this 1,000-year timeframe, which begins at Christ's second coming, Christ will not only reign over this earth, but the saints will also reign with him, and they'll reign over the very same "rest of the beasts" or rest of the kingdoms whose "lives were prolonged for a season and time" (Dan. 7:12) that Daniel wrote about.
After the 1,000 years are completed, this occurs:
“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.” (Rev. 20:11)
The present “earth and the heaven” won’t flee away until after Christ’s Millennial Reign or when the “great white throne” judgment occurs.
Notice, too, that “death” shall be “cast into the lake of fire” (Rev. 20:14) after Christ’s Millennial Reign, and this perfectly aligns with Paul’s eschatology.
In relation to the same, we read:
I Corinthians chapter 15
[22] For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
[23] But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
[24] Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
[25] For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
[26] The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
[27] For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
[28] And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
According to Paul, “the end” (vs. 24) doesn’t come until after Christ has reigned and “hath put all enemies under his feet” (vs. 25), and “the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death” (vs. 26).
Of course, as we’ve already read in Revelation 20:14, death won’t be cast into the lake of fire or “destroyed” until after Christ’s Millennial Reign is complete, so Paul and John are both saying the same exact thing.
Turning to Peter, we read:

In verse 8, Peter, while alluding to Psalm 90:4, warned us to “be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day”.
In other words, the coming “day of the Lord” that he went on to write about is not going to be a literal day, but rather a 1,000-year timeframe, and, again, his timeline perfectly coincides with those of Daniel, John, and Paul.

Regarding:
I personally believe that this current heaven and earth will be completely destroyed/vanish and God will make a completely new heaven and earth and below are some of the scriptural reasons why:
"And I saw a great white throne and the One sitting on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled, and no place was found for them."
poetically, to flee altar equivalent to vanish
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. (Rev.21:1)
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Rev.21:4)
aperchomai - to go away (from a place), to depart
If you will notice above, the word 'aperchomai' translated as 'passed away,' is used in verse1 regarding the heaven and earth. Then in verse 4, you have the same word used regarding death, mourning, crying and pain passing away. Since we know that this is referring to their complete non existence, then the heaven and earth passing away would also mean non-existence, i.e. vanishing
Also, while it is true that when God flooded the earth, the waters receded and the dry land reappeared and God used the same earth to continue His creation (which He will also do for the millennial kingdom) and which is the same earth that we are now living on. However, I do not believe that God would start off the new heaven and new earth as renovations of this current earth. Below this current earth is Sheol/Hades where the spirits of the unrighteous dead currently dwell, the Abyss, where the beast is currently resigned to and where Satan will later be sealed in for a thousand years. And Tartartus where those angels who sinned by taking human wives have been locked up in chains of darkness until the judgment.
Taking these things into consideration, I do not believe that God would start off the new earth where those places below where evil will have been locked up. I believe that He will start from scratch, creating a brand spanking new heaven and earth.
In addition, since the new Jerusalem is not a renovation of the earthly Jerusalem, but is brand new, I also believe that the reference to a new heaven and new earth, is also speaking, not of a renovated heaven and earth, but a brand new one, i.e. something from nothing. And that to accommodate the new Jerusalem and its occupants.
We'll have to see when we get there.
