Totally agree with you Gary!

When I saw this thread, I was like oh boy, this could get interesting.

I will share my opinion on the subject matter.

Let me first say, I'm not a scientist, but a skeptic. I'm 100% sure the U.S. didn't land on the moon in the 60's-70's, but if I"m wrong, it's not a big deal. I just don't believe it now.

Van Allen Radiation belts. No way can moonwalkers pass through the Van Allen Radiation belts, especially with the limited shielding that was used on the Apollo missions. One Russian scientist said, it would take a two foot lead shield to protect people from passing through the belts.

I don't believe we had the technology to broadcast black and white television from the moon. Which is about 250,000 miles from earth.

1613952089944.jpeg 1613952111537.jpeg

Modern satelites are about 12,000 miles up, so NASA had technology back in the 60's to broadcast 250,000 miles away?!?! Doubt it. (Supposedly) The earth is moving at a 1,000 miles per hour, while the earth is moving 2,000 miles per hour, not to mention what is widely believed, that both the moon and earth are spinning pretty fast.

I don't believe it's even remotely possible to land on the moon with people aboard with the technology used back 50 years ago.

Whatever you believe about the moon landing, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. If NASA came out and said, the Moon Landings were faked to get an edge over the USSR, what would change?????

I had thought this as well but then I changed my mind... I now think it does matter in the grand scheme of things...
What would change is people's perception of our governments...

Many people have this strong following towards political parties and governments often turning on their friends and family in favour of the government... When people trust the government more than their neighbours it divides us...

Just look at covid, I'm now being berated and hated by people, even some of my friends...
Why? Just cos I choose not to get vaxed. Im suddenly immoral cos of that, seriously...
And this is cos people have soooo much trust in governments and media...

In the former Soviet Union people were afraid that their own family members would turn them into authorities for the most trivial things... We are almost there in the west...

Did that make sense? What do u think?

When people trust the government more than their relatives, friends, and neighbors - it is called 'stupidity' - and you have [already] long since been divided in the worst possible way...

It was more a rhetorical question, that your responded to. Sorry to hear about your VAX persecution. Try not to discuss it with people with different views, it will make life a lot better.

What about all the other points that I posted regarding the actual topic? Sorry, I like a balanced discussion, as long as it doesn't turn into a endless argument.

I did not know you wanted one! :p

Would you like a PM?:giggle:

:)
I don't want any sympathy PM's, that will just make it worse. Maybe the CC PM Fairy will write me one day. One can only hope. She supposedly looks a lot like Tinker Bell.

Hey - now that is the best not-so-hidden "secret" message I have ever seen on CC!

Let me ask you brother - what are the chances that she will read this thread?

No. too many reasons:
  1. Solar flares could incinerate the ship on the moon.
  2. Internal temperatures of the ship due to electronics. Have you ever been in a server room with the air conditioning off? It's like being in a black car with the windows up in the summer. The air conditioning alone would kill the batteries.
  3. External temperatures when facing the sun with no atmosphere can reach 121 degrees Celsius.
  4. Space debris can be so small we can't detect it, yet at high velosity would be as dangerous as a bullet. Due to weight reduction, no armor plating is on the ship. Only heat plates are on the bottom for re-entry.
  5. Loss of muscle mass after several weeks on the moon with 1/6 the gravity of Earth. Yet the astronauts walk right off the navy ship to their cleaning chamber with their heavy suits on with no problems at all.
  6. Solar radiation and ‘cosmic rays’ (radiation from exploding stars) bombard the astronaut. At low doses, they may damage DNA and cause cancer. Does anyone know of a single astronaut that died from cancer?
  7. NOBODY has ever explained the moon flag as stiff as it was slightly flittering with no atmosphere or wind to move it.
More posts to come if I can think/research of it.:)
While you're researching you might consider this about the flag. I know it will ruin the fun theory but at least you can't say NOBODY has ever explained it.

Probably next to 0% chance, which is good. How many people actually want to talk to Tinker Bell? That would freak me out!

open the shutter. they had manual cameras, not phones.
Yea I tried that on my SLR camera...
It increases overexposure on shots into the light...
It does help with objects in the dark but yes but that much... Cmon

Ah fair enough

All your other points are valid...;)

Ahaha... Velcome komrade...

Is that really a Chinese flag on the moon? What's that thing in the foreground... A rover perhaps

Ye the flag-waving isn't a good argument. I've seen the whole sequence and the flag only moves cos they touched it, it stops and while they work away in the foreground that USA flag never moves

If you are talking about guys with romantic intentions who want to talk to her, I have no idea. But - speaking in general - I would be happy to talk to her. In fact, I have - in PM - been some time ago now. She seemed to be rather nice, best I remember.

If there is enough ambient light (such as daytime), even taking pics in shadows can show a lot of detail if you adjust your camera setting for the lower light conditions. The highlights (in the background sunlit areas) will be blown out, but the subject matter will be clear and have detail.

That was a good find about China. I looked it up and China hasn't sent anyone to walk on the moon, except a moon lander (robot). That's believable, but it makes me wonder even more how tainted the whole space race was and is.

Russia will send a rover this year to look for water, no mention of sending people though.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/science...ussia-send-spacecraft-MOON-time-45-years.html

The U.S. plans to lap Russia in the space race, by sending a woman on the moon in 2024. Russia was first in the space race on everything (well, it seems), except the man on the moon, but Russia still can't send a man there, and U.S. is sending the first woman in a couple of years. This isn't the least bit questionable?!?!
