My Bible says: If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly
stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because
the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test
the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder
will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will
be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.
1 Corinthians 3:12-15
yes mine also says that let’s look a bit closer at what Paul’s saying
I think he’s saying anyone who builds upon the word of Christ in the gospel will be saved is my understanding of it would you agree what Paul’s talking about here is what people teach ? And he’s not talking about sin and righteousness but he’s saying stick to what Jesus taught and you’ll be saved even if you aren’t a master builder which I agree with completely .
Paul’s talking about his work in the ministry and that the gospel is the foundation that saves
“Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and
every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
For we are
labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.
But
let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now
if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the
fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.”
1 Corinthians 3:8-13 KJV
it’s about what people teach after Paul , who built upon the foundation of Christ
it’s not talking about sin and righteousness he’s talking about doctrine and
this sure foundation which Christ has laid for Christian belief
“And
why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Whosoever cometh to me, and
heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock:
and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and
could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.”
Luke 6:46-48
so yes sister my Bible also says that if one is a teacher or preacher trying to build up the church if we remain on the foundation Christ provided which is summed up “repentance and remission of sins “
When Jesus says there’s no fruit on the tree he’s talking about what Paul further revealed , there’s more verses but this general type of things are what fruits we need to produce
“But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
And
they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we
live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”
Galatians 5:22-26 KJV
He says they have crucified the flesh he’s talking about repentance of these things which are thorns and thistles
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Galatians 5:19-21 KJV
which are those thrown into the fire who produced no fruit and instead thorns and thistles
all of this is my own personal view after reading your post no offense intended or argument wanted , discussion welcome
I think Paul’s talking about building upon the right doctrine in those scriptures and those who are tossed in the fore whom part from Christ are those who love in the flesh and not in the spirit
