You will probably like the place in time Tourist. I also moved from the city to a small country town and hated it at first but grew to like it. However after some time I have moved back to the city but enjoyed my time in that small country town.
I pray that this is true in my case too Ruby but I must admit I miss the hustle and bustle of Florida living. Deep down I am very much a southern big city boy. The population of Perth is 2.1 million and the population of the Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater area where I used to reside is 3.5 million. I could probably be content living in Perth. Or not. Right now, I am just going with the flow. I quit smoking recently and the withdrawal is not helping matters either. If I were still a drinking man I would crack open a Heineken. The thing is, sine 1992, even though I enjoy alcohol I choose not to drink. Hopefully, one day I will say, with conviction, that I chose not to smoke. That will be the day.

I was a city girl too, the country was the last thing I would like but I did. Whatever is Gods plan he will help you to enjoy it. You might find that you may get your best job ever there or make the nicest of friends. God will give you something about the place that will change your mind.
That would be hard giving up the smoking but you will probably start feeling physically better and find it attractive enough to keep away from it. I guess the most difficult time would be when you get stressed and want to turn the smokes but just keep casting it onto the Lord until you feel the habit of it broken.

Yeah, I get the stressed out part too.

I find your counsel to be uplifting and spiritually sound. Believe me, it is much appreciated.

I am living on day at a time and today, while it is still called today, I intend to casting the smokes to the side. Not that I have any to cast though. I threw my last smoke and lighter in the trash sometime ago. I should have at least kept the lighter but as my wife has said, you should not keep things around that tempt you. My wife gives spiritually sound counsel too but regrettably I rarely take it to heart.

Either the habit will get broken or I will get broken. Hopefully, not both but only time will tell.

The struggle is real.

God bless you Ruby.

Well it is supposed to be him inside of us that does the work so just keep giving it Him and He will do it. It is not supposed to be in our own strength. Our part is to not buy the cigs and to keep handing the situation yo him and somehow he makes it all work. Just one day at a time.

I reckon you can save heaps of money by not buying cigs and could use the money to buy flowers for your wife instead.

How is the no smoking going @tourist?
I still have cravings and that is causing a certain measure of great discomfort. I still pray everyday for deliverance from this addiction but the truth is, regardless of whether I choose to smoke or not, I will always be an addict. Nicotine is an extremely addictive substance and a source of self-inflicted abuse. Quitting is better late than never though but at the moment I take little comfort in that. I am an addict and nicotine is (was) my drug of choice. Yes I know, very foolish on my part and is (was) a path I regret taking.

I’ll be praying for your deliverance from the habit.❤️

I really don't like my neighbours who party day and night and then I really don't like the police, the council or my landlord for dragging their feet for a year and doing very little about it.

They are lost, I should pity them and pray for them more than I do. I should love my enemies, but some nights I sure don't feel like it.

Work in progress, asking god to work in me to will and to do his good pleasure, for there is nothing except him, that is of any good in me, and it is nights like this I see the evidence loud and clear :(

I had neighbors from hell once too and suffered loss of peace of mind for several years until I was able to move. Loving you enemies is a hard thing to do but that doesn't mean that you have to tolerate them. I will say a prayer for you to have peace and quiet while you are at home.

No, I have never chose to skip. It has been my experience that it is best to ask the Lord's help and guidance on how to navigate through the struggle each day may present and for the courage to face the dawn and meet it head on.

Something the Lord seems to have on repeat in my head and on my heart this past week:

“Forgiveness will set YOU free”

I keep seeing this and hearing this in different places. I believe the Lord wants me to reflect on it. 💗

I have felt a bit lonely this week. I don't know why?? Maybe I need to get a cat.
