That may be, but there is still a clear directive in Scripture which is being ignored by many:Perhaps we are more willing to believe the best in others.
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (1 Thess 5:21)

It's already very bad, so what now? Here's the kicker here. Many [believe] there will be an "end time Revival." that will be a [Mega] setting. That will be a moment to let it all go. We should have by now, but we are about to witness something special before it goes very bad.
so just wondering, why are you ... calling Hillsong a cult ?no they are in australia. I dont think they have churches here in nz. Other churches just play their songs. There is a church called LIFE church that seems similar to hillsong, but only cos its pentecostal style worship. Theres a lot of pentecostal type churches here under different names.
yes, i go to a C3 ..I know this thread has turned into a massive rant about Hillsong.
I can be blamed for that. No bad thing, mind.
Of course there are other similar "Churches", for instance C3.
Sorry to hear that. I hope that with support and guidance you will be able to remove that disease from your life.yes, i go to a C3 ..
quite the contrary, its great ...Sorry to hear that. I hope that with support and guidance you will be able to remove that disease from your life.
God bless.
Amen!It could be the purest church on the earth but if is a megachurch there will be no shortage of critics.

What did you leave it for? Where are you now bro? I get names mixed up sometimes, Are you the local confessional lutheran guy?Maybe in evangelical circles. I left that mess over a year ago.
Oh, and I call that narca-gesis.
LCMS confessional conservative Lutheran. What did you leave it for? Where are you now bro? I get names mixed up sometimes, Are you the local confessional lutheran guy?
I think you speaking from bias not experience.the LCMS folks around here have no grasp of relationship with our Lord and Savior but more practice an outward form of godliness. It surprised me how many were sick and had no idea how to seek healing and restoration for themselves through faith.
You really needn't blame yourself. Hillsong has come under fire quite a few times on this site.I know this thread has turned into a massive rant about Hillsong.

I was saved in prison when I was 18 and in Texas prison we had a Lutheran Chaplain that worked there full time paid by the state. He wore the black clothes and the white collar.I think you speaking from bias not experience.
Because it is academic what is written in the book of James which is studied in the liturgy, as well as in Bible study classes as it comes up as a subject, and Lutherans tend to be quite literal about scripture.
However as in any church there are those who don't pay attention or study or learn.
And for good reason. You really needn't blame yourself. Hillsong has come under fire quite a few times on this site.
Yes, hipe can fill seats. Insert mega church example of choice here, as perfect example.I was saved in prison when I was 18 and in Texas prison we had a Lutheran Chaplain that worked there full time paid by the state. He wore the black clothes and the white collar.
He was a very sincere believer in scripture and while I was there he decided to ask some of the inmates that made up the church there to lay hands on him to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues. He received and I remember him standing with his hands raised up and his head back speaking in tongues for about 20 minutes during a prayer time at the altar in the chapel.
His ministry took off after that and he went from a very monotone type of preaching that no one ever understood to a man empowered by the Holy Spirit with a message from the scripture that we could live. It was great to see that transformation and after that I realized that you can never judge people based on their specific denominational surroundings.

I'm glad for prison ministry.
I'm glad you were saved, I hope you keep growing.
Hopefully you will preach a more substantive message than what is standard for the mega churches.I will be a pastor of a church somewhere in a year or two. I have every intention of it growing into a mega church. I hope that out of it several hundred other mega churches will be birthed. I would not approach ministry without expectations of turning the world upside down with the power of the Holy Ghost. (See Day of Pentecost, 3000 saved = Mega Church)![]()
