Not really. Calvinism teaches that only some are pre-chosen for salvation. And some predestined for condemnation.

Which, when you think about it, makes no sense.

Because then you have God punishing people for not making
a choice that wasn't ever put before them in the first place.

No sin can be charged to Gods Elect ! Why ?

Rom 8:32-34

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

I dont even know what you talking about, sorry !
My post #258 was rather lengthy.

Do you know what SIN is?

Did you read the title of this thread? I quote it thus; "Sins cannot be charged!"

The argument can be spun several ways.

Either there isn't any such thing as SIN,
or there isn't any way for God to deal with it in us,
or humanity has found a way to spin it so that we aren't responsible for what we do. (ie: nobody's perfect)

My point is that the LAW, which defines SIN (primarily the 10 Commandments) hasn't been abolished or destroyed or "spun" out of existence.

The LAW still stands.

As a consequence we are all in a lot of trouble before God.

The Bible says the punishment for SIN is death and no man can spin an argument against it.

Where does Jesus enter into the argument?
Did He die on the cross like a fool who enabled SIN to continue?
Or did He die for something much bigger and better - to enable man to live by the LAW forgiven from it and in hope of salvation because of it.

that's me, hollering from the choir loft...

PS
God appeared before the Arabs and asked if they wanted a commandment.
"What is this commandment," they asked.
"You shall not kill," God said.
"Oh no," the Arabs cried. "We can't accept a commandment like that. Go away."

God next appeared to the Americans and asked if they wanted a commandment.
"What is it," the American asked.
"You shall not commit adultery," God said.
"Oh no," the Americans protested. "We can't be restricted by something like that. Go away."

Finally, God appeared to the Jews and asked if they wanted a commandment.
"What does this commandment cost," the Jews asked.
"Nothing," God said. "It's free."
"Give us ten," the Jews answered.

I repeat, those Christ died for, they cannot be charged with their sins. God will not do it Rom 4:8

8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
You can repeat all you want, but JUDGMENT BEGINS IN THE HOUSE OF GOD as written in 1 Peter 4:17.

Today the post-protestant church has embraced the false doctrines of hyper-grace. The assumption that God will wink at closet SIN, excuse moral excess and even approve of that which is forbidden by His morality, His ethics and His LAW is patently absurd and spiritually destructive.

the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son." - Hebrews 12:6 & Proverbs 3:12

The Bible promises that God will punish SIN in the lives of those He has accepted as sons and daughters. No one is exempt. There is not one single passage in the Bible that says God excuses SIN from ANYBODY.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A LICENSE TO SIN.

you may be sure that your sin will find you out. - Numbers 32:23b

Membership in a church does not save. Admitting one is a Christian is not a shield against the repercussions of SIN. SIN will find you out and destroy you no matter what religious discipline you adopt or entertain. SIN will cut your life off early if you continue in it without repenting of it. A one-time visit to the alter to be saved isn't an insurance policy against divine judgment of SIN in the life of the believer.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful - Hebrews 12:11a

God, our loving father, will not hesitate to use the lash upon those who flaunt His grace upon them. His protection will not endure for those who deny His ways, His demands of righteousness upon our lives and His LAW.

Because you people have sinned against the LORD and have not obeyed His voice, this thing has happened to you. - Jeremiah 40:3b

Evil will indeed visit those, even God's elect God's children and God's saved, if they deny God's LAW in their hearts, minds and lives. It will come. It will not wait. It will not be easy. It will HURT. It will surely KILL.

"But if a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked person does, will they live? None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die. - Ezekiel 18:24

There is no special favor or false grace that will spare those who flaunt their Duty, their Obedience and the blood of Christ. They shall surely suffer and die if they do not repent.

God has promised that the blood shed for those who've accepted it will save them from destruction of the Second Death. He NEVER promised it would allow them to continue in SIN the world enjoys.

Why do so many Christians eagerly embrace SIN? Why do so many Christians today deny the LAW? Why do so many Christians today make it their dedicated duty in life to justify SIN? It is because they have debauched themselves, the name of their religion and have become the meanest sort of hypocrites. Their religion has become a joke in the eyes of the world.

I earnestly write to you who have believe lies that justify SIN. It is my hope and prayer that you will fall to your knees and confess your SIN before God. It is my deep desire that those who are called by the name of Christ would repent of their SIN, hate it even as He who they claim to follow does, and deny it from the top of their skin to the marrow of their bones.

The consequence of NOT repenting of SIN, of NOT hating it and of NOT denying it fully are too great to be ignored or swept under the carpet of disdain. The consequence is more than a slap on the wrist. The consequence is DEATH before its time, before that allotment in the land of the living God had originally intended.

It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age— and then have fallen away—to be restored to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame.
For land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its curse is imminent. In the end it will be burned.
- Hebrews 6:4-8

We are indeed charged with our SINs. We cannot escape a defiled life - a life that fornicates with the devil.

Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? - Paul as written to 1 Corinthians 6:15

We are encouraged to despise SIN, to deny it and to reject it. For if we who have been saved turn our backs upon that righteousness and that life God has intended us to live according to His LAW, then He WILL indeed hold it against us. He WILL indeed charge us with SIN. He WILL indeed punish us for it. We may not suffer the Second Death, but we may indeed lose the balance of time allotted to us upon the earth.

"You shall NOT tempt the Lord your God." - Jesus as quoted in Luke 4:12 7 Matthew 4:7 and written in Deuteronomy 6:16

The consequences of believing Christians are immune from the consequences of SIN - that Christians are not charged with it is FALSE.
The reality of what will happen to those who challenge God's LAW even if they be Christians is terrible.

Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you. - Isaiah 47:11

Who do you think you are? You will certainly NOT escape.

Therefore work out your salvation in fear and trembling, for the mercy of God will indeed punish for SIN.

Beware the leaven of the pharisees who believed their righteous would save them. It is more worthless than menstrual cloth.

We are called to be apart from the world and its wickedness, not to embrace it.

"You shall NOT tempt the Lord your God." - Jesus as quoted in Luke 4:12 7 Matthew 4:7 and written in Deuteronomy 6:16

Even Jesus admitted SIN is forbidden. Being justified in His blood doesn't justify future SIN. Be sure your SIN will find you out.

None of us are immune from chastisement for SIN. Do you think God will wink at it? He will NOT.

Everyone who believes they are immune from punishment for SIN is playing with divine fire.

Being saved means one has promised God they will turn their backs upon SIN and hate it forever - not return to it, justify it and play with it as though it was sand at the beach.

When God judges a thing, it is permanently changed. It will never return to the way it was formerly.
Watch and learn pilgrim.

You will either learn and accept and abide by the precepts of God's LAW or it will crush you under its weight.

Those who do not live by the LAW will DIE BY THE LAW. - Paul as written to the Romans 2:12

Why do Christians defend SIN so eagerly?

Because they have betrayed the Lord who saved them and are in league with the devil who falsely promises an escape from the consequences of SIN.

Continue in your rejection of God's desire to charge with SIN those who violate His LAW. When disaster comes to you, don't blame God. The blame will rest squarely upon your own head. On that day, repent. Perhaps you may find mercy. Maybe not.

The blood of the Lamb promises to save from the Second Death. It NEVER promises a license to SIN.

God's hand is not so short it cannot or will not punish SIN in the life of the believer.

Do you want to risk it? DO NOT PLAY GAMES WITH GOD.

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. DON'T BE A FOOL.

Again but stated differently, reason for sin not being charged to God's elect is because Christ died and is risen again!

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 7

No, the scriptures support what I have said because what I say comes from them.

2Co_5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

1Jn_1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

You contradict scripture and that is not a good idea. Teaching Christians that they don't have to repent of sin is straight from the devil.
