The New Age beliefs are very Universal, they believe that all paths lead to God.
It's Impossible to narrow down, and with so many beliefs each new Ager picks and chooses whatever best fits his appetite. It's really a Have-It-Your-Way religion – thus its modern appeal.
They fault Christians for being intolerant and narrow-minded. But God's word anticipates this: Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
They also believe that -- Man is God, -- all things are one, -- God is in everything.
Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (every tree is good)
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (you don't die)
Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (you'll be God)

Teaching that the soul lives forever even when your not saved is Satans tactic today, don't fall for it a second time.

do you believe that Adam and Eve would be mortal if they never sinned

All human beings are mortal, even Adam and Eve. Scripture says Adam was of the Earth, Earthy and that were have borne the image of that man.

1Co_15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
1Co_15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
1Co_15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

So you are asking me if people in a vegetative state can dream? I am not qualified to answer that one, dear.

no, it was a rhetorical question directed to VickyK

if someone were to lose their ability to sense their environment completely but still maintain both their memories and ability to think, they would still be able to dream

romans 5:12 seems to imply that death was brought into the world because of Adam's sin but my interpretation of that verse could be wrong ???
And? That does not mean they were immortal before that. They were both of the natural world.

The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.
1 Cor 15:46

They did not eat of the Tree of Life.

1 Cor 15:46

They did not eat of the Tree of Life.

Yes, this is correct.

yes, I've been following the thread.
Me too. When one gets bumped on the head and goes UNconcious, it doesn't mean that my physical body has died. I remember falling off my swing once and perceiving twinkly stars. Does this shed any light on our perplexing deviation?

if death was never brought into the world, then nobody would die

and if nobody dies, wouldn't that mean they live forever ???

They needed to be faithful and obey God to stay in Gods presence. When they got kicked out of the garden of Eden they couldn't eat from the tree of life and died as a result.
Life comes from God and we can eat of the tree of life if we are faithful to God. Sin means we can't eat of the Tree.
We are not immortal in and of ourselves, we do not have life in ourselves, Only God has eternal life. we are dependent on God for life second by second and day by day.
Sin = death
God = life.
we choose.

I'm afraid the death in that verse is a spiritual death not a physical death. Adam and Eve died the day they sinned but it was spiritual. The first death is a natural death because we are made as mortals. It is a spiritual death that sin brings. That's why the bible sometimes speaks of living people as dead because they don't have the kind of life salvation brings.

That would be reading into the text what is not there.

Jesus was purposed from before the foundation of the world.

God knew which choice they were going to make.

There is no escaping the fact they did not eat from the Tree of Life.

Although some say the mere fact they were alive attested to them having done so.

But that is obviously incorrect.

Some of us are alive for quite some time before we become grafted into the True Vine.

And if we had not? We would be counted as dead, and suffer the second and final death.

Because as Jesus said, "You must be born again."

All of us have immortal souls. It is the essence of our being. We were all created as immortal entities. When we die, we go up or we go down. Nobody just 'stops'. We need to be saved from death and the everlasting fiery lake.

All of us have immortal souls.
Scripture says God alone is immortal.

We attain to life ever after by grace through faith :)

when you say that "we are dependent on God for life second by second and day by day", do you mean life in the physical/biological sense ???
