The Word of God is often referred to as water in the Bible because the Word acts as a cleansing agent, which explains what Paul meant when he wrote concerning Jesus’ cleansing the church “that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word so that He might present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.” (Eph 5:26-27) <- from my search engine ;):)The saving baptism is of the Holy Spirit of God, not earthly water.

John the Baptist said this of Jesus: “He on Whom you see the Spirit
descend and remain is the One Who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.”
Its a tricky one . it seems aimed at Israel.

Jesus spoke of Living Water, that if partaken of, one would never thirst again.

Paul specifically said, "the church." The church is the Body of Christ.

All those saved by grace through faith in His shed righteous blood. Born again :)

Of the Holy Spirit of God...

I do not take you to be ingenuine ;)

Though I did give the verses, I shall give them again :)

Ephesians 5:26-27 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

^To understand the invisible characteristics of the Almighty, we study what's been made by Him as foreshadowing examples.

Before a person is born into this world they pass through water (the amniotic sac) breaking. Similarly, before a priest was allowed into the personal sanctum of the Almighty (i.e. the inner court) he was required to wash at the bronze laver...then later on when the temple was built this laver was enlarged into the bronze sea to fit many more priests. This bath stood between the altar of sacrifice and the inner court of the temple or holy place.

Matthew 3:13-17
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

The Messiah was born of the water and the Spirit and then was proclaimed "Son".

"That which is born of flesh is flesh"...it must follow the same process no matter the flesh.

"That which is born of spirit is spirit"...it must follow the same process no matter the spirit.

Do you have a verse that says only Jews have to repent and be baptised?
I think my question is more reasonable. I have no issue with being water baptised after one is baptised by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ . My issue is with all this nonsense about Acts 2.38 being used for Gentiles . Acts 2.38 is not for Jews or Gentiles today . It was specific for the Jewish audience Peter was addressing at that time .

interesting because is not Acts 2:38 parallel with Mark 16:15-16 and Matthew 28:16-20??

Did Jesus not mean literally, Go and preach the Gospel and baptize everyone who Believes? Did not Jesus say to the Apostles make disciples? And are not those disciples to do the very same things Jesus said for the Apostles were to do?

But there is a difference in what Peter says That is not applicable to gentiles . Not applicable to any one else other than the people Peter was speaking to .

What about what Jesus said in context to Baptism and what Peter said? Are you suggesting Peter'S application of Acts 2:38 IS NOT IN LINE WITH WHAT JESUS SAID IN Matthew 28:16-20 AND MARK 16:15-16? The Gospel message is to all but first to the Jews but not only to the Jews. Therefore the application must be continued to all of those " Who So Ever" are that come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

there is no order when it comes to the gospel message.

The context of who (Apostles) they were to go to first with the message of the Gospel was( the Jews) but it is to "all" now and the application that matters today is going to "All".

they are absolutely Parallel. Jesus and the message of the Gospel have always been to reach the Whole world, who HE chose to go with the Gospel message first is in the word of God but the Gospel was not only for the jews it was to all. Peter said nothing to change that. And Baptism effect is the same on a Gentile as it is with a Jew.

Your speaking in general over arching terms . I meant specifically the instructions/ information is different. Put them side by side.

Look at the order in Acts 2 .
38¶Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

1 ) repent
2 baptised
3) For the remission of sins
4) and ye shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost.
.This is not the order of salvation we should preach .
The context is key .Peter is speaking to Israel . This Audience have to DO something specific.
Its furthered defined in Acts 3 .

I disagree, now please go back to your comment that I took note of and follow the context of your assertion.

Here is the issue Acts 2:38 is not the end of the context of what Peter said. You would be correct IF you remove Acts 2:39

which states by Peter :

For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Verse 39 is parallel to what Jesus said in Matthew 28 and Mark 16. Also, Acts 2:38 is speaking to the jews the final context did not end with ONLY the Jews AS Jesus said the Gospel message was for "ALL".

You took Acts 2:38 and shorten the context because Acts 2 ends at verse 40, and the very end of the chapter not 38.
