I have always felt the old ways of capital punishment tends to make people think twice if the event is public for things like murder or child sex abuse. Then maybe people with evil intentions will at least think twice. Give them the option to seek forgiveness from God, repent, and accept Christ. Then the state will send them to see Jesus and face ultimate judgment.
