Stuff like Larry Norman, Petra (which is my all time favorite band!), Phil Keaggy, Legend Seven, Ken Tamplin, David Zaffiro, Novella White Heart, PFR etc.

They started out as rap then switched to alternative before dying out. I'd label them closer to a boy band than a rock band.well, songs are over 25 years old, correct ?

I never really listened to either of them. But I was a teen when they were big and actually saw both in concert.twis why I have a hard time with Newsboys UNITED.........
because Tait brings a sound to them that is to much DC Talk style
I loved old Newsboys, and liked DC Talk, BUT the 2 mixed together is ehhhh okay. Although Newsboys (UNITED) is better now that Peter Furler and Phil Joel (both origional Newsboys ) are back on board.
They were literally labeled as a rap group when they first started. Rap beats and rapping.one of them was rap/hip hop, the other two added their bit.
