Election disputes are handled by the courts not the vp. If you want to live in a dictatorship maybe you could try Venezuela or North Korea. For the moment, we are still a nation of laws. So feelings and conspiracy theories do not get todecide, the courts do. You may feel the courts decided unfairly but that is the law and you have to deal with it. That Pence can decide the election has to be the most ridiculous thing I have heard in all of 2020. By that logic, Biden could have pronounced Hillary president because he felt like it. Happy 2021 all. May your hearts and minds be opened this year and God bless.

Well said.

It’s apparent that there are people here, who would like to do away with democracy, and the Constitution, over their emotional relationship with Trump.

Cultish is to put it mildly.

12th AMENDMENT: the procedure could last for hours. And if it lasts past midnight, the Electoral College turns to a pumpkin and election of POTUS falls to the House

We're talking about five individual states in the 150 House members....the procedure could last for hours. Like more than the entire day!
And if it lasts past midnight, the Electoral College turns to a pumpkin and election of POTUS falls to the House.

Per the Constitution, Congress sets its own rules for doing its business. It codified rules for counting electoral college votes including assigning it to a specific day. If Pence shows up the day before and counts: that is not a lawful, constitutional counting of the electoral college. Neither is doing it the next day.

Slow speaking, lots of water sipping, asking lots of points of order, taking a lot of time to reassemble for a quorum for and after each debate....pumpkins.

Jovan Pulitzer says Georgia Called in Trucks to Get Rid of the Evidence in Fulton County He is Supposed to be Scanning!

Legally all election data and documents must be held for 22 months. But since this entire escapade was criminal to begin with it's going to be criminal to end with. This vast criminality will continue until the people stand up & prevent these incidents from happening. We are well beyond the point where martial law should be enacted.

There is plenty of precedent for Pence rejecting dueling slates of delegates starts with Nixon in 1960, as VP he rejected the governors certified slate of delegates (even though they were for him) and accepted the Democratic Party's legislative slate.
There is plenty of precedent for Pence rejecting dueling slates of delegates starts with Nixon in 1960, as VP he rejected the governors certified slate of delegates (even though they were for him) and accepted the Democratic Party's legislative slate. So the VP does have the authority to recognize either, or dismiss both slates in a case of dueling electors.
In 1877, due to allegations of voter fraud and corruption, there was controversy about the slates of delegates.
"The contested 1876 presidential election between Republican Rutherford B. Hayes of Ohio and Democrat Samuel J. Tilden of New York was the last to require congressional intervention. Tilden won the popular vote and the electoral count. But Republicans challenged the results in three Southern states, which submitted certificates of election for both candidates. While the Constitution requires the House and Senate to formally count the certificates of election in joint session, it is silent on what Congress should do to resolve disputes. In January 1877, Congress established the Federal Electoral Commission to investigate the disputed Electoral College ballots. The bipartisan commission, which included Representatives, Senators, and Supreme Court Justices, voted along party lines to award all the contested ballots to Hayes—securing the presidency for him by a single electoral vote. "

Ummm no.

Define communist ;)
The 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto, by Karl Marx 1848. If a nation has, or is on its way, to implementation of these, it is Communist in my book.

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose. Land taxes, council taxes, poll taxes etc. Most Western nations, including the US.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax. All Western nations, including the US.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance. Many Western nations are moving in this direction. It's not totally gone yet, but many countries (e.g. UK) have significant "death taxes", preventing transfer of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels. Many nations have this in place for certain outlaw groups. It is being introduced for Christians (e.g. cases in recent years in the US, where Christians wouldn't bake cakes for sodomites etc.) Certainly with COVID, people across the world are having their property confiscated for rejection of illegally introduced laws (e.g. Covid-19 masks, vaccines, travel).

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly. Most countries have this.

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State. Fake news, anyone? Major election fraud in the US, and only mocked in the MSN. Prevention of travel except by government exemption due to the China virus excuse? It's worldwide.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan. Environmental laws. They're in place across the world. Preventing people using their own land in the ways they deem fit.

8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture. Discrimination against the traditional family via taxation - forcing mothers to work, and rely on the childcare of the state.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country. This may take longer to notice, but it's being worked on across many so-called Western nations.

10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children’s factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc. This is in place across the world, with discrimination against Christian schools, homeschooling, etc.

The Canadian Parliamentary System Canada's form of government comes from the British parliamentary system. That's very different than Communism.
The problem isn't the system of government. Much as in the US, it's the people within it not following the rules. They are the Communists. So the effect is a Communist government, even though the system itself was not designed to be such.

Similar to the fact that we have worldwide government, despite the peoples of the nations not having agreed to this.

Case in point, @SophieT ;) If Canada were a communist nation, there would be no private property.

Perhaps you (Moses_wet-behind-the-ears) should educate yourself as to what communism actually is.

I could suggest some resources... but you are probably not interested in the truth of this matter.

You've made up your mind and are not interested in facts.
Au contraire. Despite Karl Marx' planks of Communism being around for nearly 2 centuries, it seems that you are the one unfamiliar with it.

Looks like we have another crypto-commie freak show on our hands....
The Communists in America are no longer "crypto-commies". They have been emboldened to become outright Marxist/Communists with plenty of cash and encouragement from the CCP, Soros, and many other billionaires, who now hate free enterprise and capitalism, as well as the guaranteed liberties of the Constitution, after having benefited from them for decades.

Exactly. The Canadian liberals have subverted the Constitution, and the rule of law, and also introduced numerous government policies out of the Communist playbook. Justin Trudeau has publicly praised Fidel Castro, and some claim that he may even be Castro's illegitimate child. Trudeau even invited Chinese enemy troops to train on Canadian soil recently (although that may not have fully materialized). But the problem is that there are no real conservatives in Canada, and not a single man who is willing to stand up and be counted, and take serious action against the inroads of Communism into Canada. If China were to decide to annex Canada, it would happen without a whimper.
