i agree,
Do we have a choice in the matter. Do we choose if we want to have salvation or not have the gift of salvation??
Does God force us into eternal death and eternal life?
Is God like that?
Definitely not.

Jesus came down from Heaven and lived among men and taught among men and then died at the hands of men so that all could have another chance after grandfather Adam messed things up.

Forward 2000 years... someone has the audacity to come on CC and tell us that it was all for naught because some men were just simply predestinated to Hell and other men were just simply predestinated for Heaven. For anyone viewing this thread, this man is a liar. You may come to Jesus now and be fully cleansed by the precious blood of the Lamb that was shed for you and every other human soul that has ever existed since the very beginning of time itself. Come to that Fountain today and have all your sins washed away.

John
3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

He loved and loves them all.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
He loves them He saves.

Christs blood/Death converts them He died for, His Church or Sheep into a kingdom of priests Rev 1:5-6

5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 18

Or 2. In actual fact?

I suspect the former, but just want to be sure :)

Yes it does. It effected their Salvation. Nobody else has their Salvation effected. Many will be lost. Now who did Christ specifically state He died for ? Jn 10:11,15
Nope it does not

his death pays the way for everyone, but not everyone will be saved

we are saved by grace THROUGH FAITH

grace is offered to everyone via the cross. But not everyone will receive it

Yes it does. Any scripture referencing the Death of Christ, who He died for, is defined by the very words of Christ. Jn 10:11,15 And His Death effects Salvation.

He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
