is that number perhaps reflective of how many you have "RECEIVED," rather than the number "given" by you??
In my own profile, I only see a place for the number of those I've received (however, I've never "given" one, so I wouldn't know how those might show up, to myself/in my own profile, or if they even do).
I see in a post of yours, around mid-December, that you have "received" at least one reaction from someone (that's all I looked at, mind you). Have you considered that the total number is referring to such a thing (as opposed to the number of ones "given" by you [which you're saying you haven't])?

well I undid 3 neutrals which I apparently gave, being icons. And I definitely looked at the two rows, of given and received. All I've done is replied, im sure I haven't given any reaction emos.
There is always the first time. Reaction icons are indicative of how you feel about certain posts and members. Very valuable in the evaluation of the members of this site.
the only emoticons i have clicked, are the laughing ones, and others like it. do the reactions appear without me or anyone else clicking them ?
according to the two lists, I have given 45, and have received 85. other than pressingly reply, such as i have done with this, to answer your reply, how have i given 45 reactions ?
No, you have to click on them. According to your profile you have clicked on quite a few. Never heard a member say that reaction icons are given automatically. I would make note of what was supposedly given and compare it every few days to see if icons were given without your knowledge.
well, sometime after i joined, and started posting, i notice that 44 had been given by me, but i haven't clicked to give any. and so far, there are no responses for me to want to do so. just seems a bizarre for something to happen, when i haven't actually clicked on them. certainly not complaining, just puzzled.
What device are you using? If its your phone, when swiping up or done, you may have clicked on the reaction button and not noticed.
well, using a computer, it was already doing it, without me clicking anything.
on a not so smart, smartphone, it has starting doing it for me, but i remove almost straight away.
i have taken photos of my supposed reactions given, using a computer screen, to see which threads this has occured in.
im sure some of the threads i haven't even looked in, such as the family one.
will try and upload the pics as proof.
thats, why i'm asking.
there were 44 reactions by me, when i first started here, of which i dont know how they occured.
i have since deleted some, from threads i have even responded to, or to members i haven't maybe otherwise replied to with a message.

from what I see, it looks like all the reactions given by you are the thumbs up. It is very likely that you have slighty bumped the thumbs up icon while scrolling and it was enough to send the reaction.

Maybe you thought the thumb symbol is what you had to press to reply. After all, reply is written is directly below it??
well that happens on the stupid smartphone.
What about an actual computer though ?

I'm on a laptop and have done it a few times myself.
Also, when hovering over it and the other icons appear, I have accidentlly bumped my mouse just enough while scrolling, for it to put the wrong one up.
So, my opinion is that you've unintentionally have bumped it.
