Same thing, except not performed by an ordained official of the RCC. The difference is minuscule. Its true purpose is to gather as many gullible people into the RCC flock as possible.

Remember: Salvation in the RCC has nothing to do with surrender to or acceptance of Jesus Christ into one's heart. It has everything to do with membership. Excommunication, for instance, is considered a sentence to hell-fire not because someone has rejected Christ but because for one reason or another the relationship with the RCC has been terminated. None of this is Biblical of course, but nobody seems to care. The Pope is God and submission to him is salvation according to RCC unBiblical doctrine.(*)

Because the post-protestant church has accepted much of RCC theology, the idea of membership is nearly as extreme among those churches as well. Failure to attend church regularly, for instance, is determined to be evidence of a backslidden mind and puts the person in question at risk of hell-fire. This is basically the same as Roman doctrine, but without the stigma of excommunication.

Same sex anything is forbidden according to old testament & new testament writings.

"Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men" - 1 Cor. 6:9

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. - Leviticus 18:20

Nothing has changed except RCC attempts to ensnare sinners in its web of deceit.

that's me, hollering from the choir loft...

"The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in heaven and earth."
Barclay Cap. XXVII, p. 218. Cities Petrus Bertrandus, Pius V.

In your haste to put me right, you have missed the point. I have not made any comment on the rightness or wrongness of either same-sex marriage or same-sex civil unions. I was pointing out a mistake that people said the pope was talking about same-sex marriage which he wasn't. That is different from same-sex civil unions which was obvious as the homosexuals in my country did not want same-sex civil unions. They wanted same-sex marriage because they wanted to be recognized in the same terms as heterosexual couples and to force ministers to marry them in the church.

Recently I heard on news that the pope supports gay marriage; he obviously doesn't agree with the word of God. The pope is a twist and has no authority.

I must be the only one who thinks this is good news. This will encourage priests to come out of the closet, and also encourage the laymen to come out of RCC. Francis didn't concoct this yesterday, he was already thinking it. Things being brought into the light is always better as opposed to things being covered up in darkness.
I disagree with your assessment because he is a world leader and has violated the word of God which I might add the Methodist, and Lutherans had done before RCC. This only makes our job of truth harder. The pope will answer to the living God for the many lives he helped go to hell.

I see your point. I guess I've never seen him as any "world leader" he tries to be that though and give himself that kind of importance but all these "leaders" are really imposed & impinging upon the world... maybe I'm wrong, I just think that God will use this situation. I'm non denominational so I always cheer for people abandoning institutions with "leaders" telling them what is "truth", while lining their pockets and doing a lot of evil. Religious life needs to become a personal path, with small congregations. These religious corporations that don't speak for the people need to be gone.

Yes, I too believe God can use it for good, however, what was the final outcome for those in the Protestant denominations who did the same thing?

I don't know what you're referring to? You mean the people that abandoned institution? I guess they're non denominational now?

It doesn't alter the fact that in the orginal context he did not say same sex marriage.

I don't even think that the Pope spoke English. I believe that the translation that I heard was 'Union', not marriage. Either way he sold out!

why would the catholic church not allow same sex marriage ?
it doesn't represent anything of God, nor does the catholic church resemble anything Christian anyway.
and its famous for its abuse.
who does the pope think he is anyway?

I would pay absolutely no attention whatsoever to the lamestream news media. Trump got that right, it's all fake news without merit.

I believe that what he said was that he is in support of same sex civil unions. Regardless, the official position of the Catholic Church is same sex marriage is forbidden. Actually, he has great authority as the leader of the Catholic Church and the influence he exerts in the world leader community as a whole in his leadership capacity.

we love you very much Tour, but you must come to the understanding that the 'pope is just a puppet', and really
has no authority or learder-ship for the term of 'catholic' = this equals blasphemy among True Christians who
Yeshua has 'called-elected-chosen' out of this present evil/demonic world...

tour, if you can't claim corruption as you see/know it, then we will have to part our ways =
no 'gray area' where Yeshua is concerned, and especially in our lives = His way or no way!!!
