I bought TV led strip recently to surprise husband, it's a nice customizable soft light and comfortable to the eyes. But I found out it also had animated function that changes colors, so voila, instant Christmas lights! Definitely would recommend to people who hate the hassle or clutter but want Christmas lights...
As for the Christmas tree, our cat food tree will be our Christmas tree this year:

I like how it's upside down, depicting what would've happened to a real tree
I wish I'd run into some red bowtie of some solid (uninteresting) material, to attach around the "trunk", and we're all set, best Christmas tree ever

Yes, I like that idea as well, and for many years had magenta colored lights up all the time :)

SW, are your l.e.d. lights smart phone controlled? I remember seeing lights like that in Best Buy some time go, and waned to get something like that but did not have a smart phone at the time. You can program them to turn on and off whenever you like. I love the color combos, and the fact that you can have a steady color, or mix and match at whatever speed you choose. Some of my neighbors have them :) I enjoy seeing their suites from my windows when their l.e.d. lights are on :D

Does it snow where you are, and if so when?
It has never snowed much here in Riverside but with the weather variations lately, I'm expecting it anytime, lol. However, surrounding areas like Big Bear City, an hour away, have bountiful snow.

Yeah you can connect them to a smartphone app. I prefer that to one more remote.
