He knows what could happen given the choices you make. That is the condition here. The election “according to the foreknowledge of God the Father” is 1) “through sanctification of the Spirit” and 2) “unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.” Tell me, when did the Holy Spirit sanctify you? When did you obey God and trust “the blood of Jesus Christ” to cleanse you from your sin? Was it in time or in eternity?
So when Paul talks about election “before the foundation of the world” (Eph. 1:4), he is careful to say, “According as he hath chosen us IN HIM” (i.e., in Jesus Christ) “be “before the foundation of the world.” No man is in Christ until the Holy Spirit places him there (1 Cor. 12:13) at salvation (Gal. 3:26–27).
He knows what “could” happen? So He really doesn’t know all things? He only knows potentials?

He knows what will happen and could happen based on our choices . He knows he will predestine all those who get in christ .Thats what the bible actually reveals. You and calvinists ect go beyond what's revealed and assume you know the details of what God cannot and cannot be or do .

The reason why many people are impressed by such people as John Calvin ect is because we all want easy answers to difficult concepts. Along comes a theologian who seems to have it all figured out for us with a step by step system. Then people adopt some if not all of it and fail to arrive at their own conclusions from the scriptures.

So you’re saying God didn’t know He was going to adopt you until when?
God knows he will adopt ( glorify ,Rom 8.23 )all those who are in Christ ,sealed by the Holy Spirit. That is a promise in the scriptures.

We are elect according to what?

I came to my own conclusions by scripture. So we were elect according to what?

The preposition “in” has many nuances and usages in the Bible. It could mean in, by, for, because of,etc.

See Paul’s use of the preposition in Ephesians 3:11

So we are elect according to what?
19But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

20Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

21Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

22¶Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

24For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Yes God foreknew that through these means they who get in him will be glorified. But you think it means ' God saw who would believe ahead of time ( in eternity past ) in his mind ,therefore sent some form of grace to this selected one and caused through some partial regeneration ,enabling to believe or reject the gospel. But why add that, because God knew he would not resist and surely doesn't waste time sending grace to someone he knows wont believe . Essentially you believe in the classic Arminian conditional election . Which is just as unbiblical as its counterpart ' unconditional election. Both positions derive from the same faulty Agustinian pot .

So he only foreknew Means, he did not foreknow individuals? So he had no idea that he was going to adopt you and me until we believed? That is limited knowledge friend. And if he did knowThat he was going to adopt you and me, then were we chosen and predestinated. God is not an illogical being, that he should know something as infallible fact yet not choose it
