Sir Dan: wee elephant has to take ya to da woodshed dis morning.
Ordered my Meds from VA....they put them out for delivery. Way it works..... VA contacts UPS who picks up the outgoing Meds and delivers them to the appropriate USPS facility which then does their thing to get the Meds to the Vets who are in very serious need of them.
I was notified by VA that my Meds had been shipped on the 1st and were to be delivered to my Post Office on the 5th. So, trusting as I am, I go to pick them up, and, yes, as I should have expected.............
THEY WERE NOT THERE!
I had tracking number and message verification of shipment. The local Post Master spent some time trying to figure out what when wrong. Eventually, she blamed UPS for not picking them up on time from the VA. Then blamed both UPS and the Birmingham Postal Facility. Said because of Covid 19, they were short staffed and things were not being done in a normal time frame. "Check sometime next week." Was her advice.
Problem is: I have been out of my Meds since Saturday morning. Missed my afternoon doses and all day Sunday, and this morning as well............. And, I am not the only Vet this is happening to.......
I simply DO NOT understand how the Postal Service and the UPS Corporation are unable to realize how vital it is to prioritize Medications being shipped to Vets. IF ANYTHING, these should be at the head of the line for delivery. Yeah, I am being selfish...........STILL.......
(I know it isn't your fault Brother, just venting)
