Important as it is that we recognize God working in us, I would yet warn against preoccupation with the thought. It is a road to sterile passivity. God will not hold us responsible to understand the mysteries of election, predestination, and the divine sovereignty. The best ways to deal with those truths is to raise our eyes to God and in the deepest reverence say, "O Lord, Thou knowest." Those things belong to the deep and profound of God's omniscience. Prying into them may make you theologians, but it will never make you saints.

A.W. Tozer

Whoa those words landed with such impact, such significance. I felt their piercing truth because I myself have spent great time trying to grasps certain biblical concepts that still leave me scratching my head. Tickled by the mysteries of a God is good; even wonderful is it that the gift given in His word brings joy and rejoicing, for we are called by the Lord of Hosts.

However, I must remember my place. Though He welcomes me into His Holy presence, I am not on level ground with Him. I need not grasp for things too lofty, but rather wait for His revealing and even greater...accept with peace that I don't yet fully understand. I need to keep casting the line, always eager to learn, remaining humble. Yet, rest in His discernment in when and how He will open the word to me.

O Lord , my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.
Psalm 131:1‭-‬2 ESV

Lord,

As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
Psalm 42:1‭-‬2 ESV

I seek Your presence. Today, I am reminded It doesn't come more so with head knowledge. In fact, it comes more with trusting You, when I can't see, when I don't know. I am leaning on your everlasting arms. I need You desperately. I want You more. Thank You for giving Yourself so abundantly, in so many ways. I will continue to seek Your radiant face, as I rest in Your all knowing, not mine.

Well, I am reading his book right now as part of a study and being inspired by it, so I am just writing as I reflect and agree. Writing really helps me grasp things. I so love writing and expressing God's love and fellowship. Well best as I am able in my limited human capacity. I'm sorry that you did not appreciate this. I understand and it is ok. I appreciate your honesty. Huggers.

God Bless you.

Good thought aw Tozer
I'm more of a bibliophile than a theologian.

I.e I love the Bible and read it rather than study it.

all Children initially love books and enjoy learning how to read and reading stories. But then comes along tests and they start hating books and then get worried when they dont have the right answer.

"Thoughts disentangle themselves, through the lips and over the fingertips", Chuck Swindoll. Typing just doesn't cause the same response.

I enjoy all that you are led to share.
Bless you
