We obediently like to keep God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit's Sabbath day, and spent it in his
rest. On that day we
rest, as we will after death. On the
other six, we labour as instructed by God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Revelation 14 (ESV)
12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those
who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.
13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Blessed indeed," says the Spirit, "
that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!"
2 Thessalonians 2 (ESV)
3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the
rebellion comes first, and the man of
lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
Yes again who have Gods True commandments Moses ? Or Jesus ?
it’s almost like you don’t agree there are two covenants . I think ultimately this should be understood it’s about Christ’s judgement not Moses accusation
“For we must
all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
2 Corinthians 5:10 KJV
Christ isn’t going to judge people based on what day they consider holy out of a week that’s all to look through a veil like Israel did so much that they rejected the truth when he came to tell them the truth. And they stayed in the darkness when he came to show them light.
this in Moses law is not the gospel
“And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.
And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses.”
Numbers 15:32-33, 35-36
anybody who doesn’t understand how different that is from Gods word , is reading in the dark without light
if the rules Moses announced to Israel were what mattered there would have been no new covenant needed . There would have been no need for a better word with better promises
“But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”
Hebrews 8:6
if the New Testament was according to moses law we would be promised the nation of Israel as our promosed land as they were but ours in Christ whether gentile or Jew is better
“Nevertheless we,
according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
2 Peter 3:13 KJV
if it was about the old covenant our promises would all pertain to that earthly promised land like the laws blessings
“
If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you
rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the
trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and
dwell in your land safely. And
I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid:
and I will
rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
For
I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
And I will set my tabernacle among you: and
my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I
also will do this unto you;
I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.”
Leviticus 26:3-6, 9, 11-12, 14-16
there blessing if they did all they were commanded was never a new heaven and earth ,never resurrection and eternal
Life , it was rain for thier crops and good harvests in thier oromised land . It was long years on earth and then rest with the fathers and wait for resurrection and life to come .
but when he came they were too busy focusing on things like “ his disciples picked food on the sabbath that’s forbidden he must not be the right one he isn’t keeping the letter of the law “
notice how Pharisees , teachers of the law , priests of the law all constantly tried finding any reason to accuse Jesus by the law ? And eventually sentenced him to death based upon the law and their disbelief of what he said ? It’s because of thier trust in Moses and his law not ever hearing what Moses said about Christ and HIS WORD
the people asked not to hear Gods word anymore at horeb so God replies
“
According to all that thou desiredst of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
And
it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”
Deuteronomy 18:16, 18-19 KJV
I can argue that this is Jesus and another could say no no it’s not but if we believe the nt revelation not try to figure it out but just believe what’s
revealed now through the Holy Ghost Peter here arguing with the Jews who insist the law is the final word
“For
Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
Yea, and
all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers,
saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
Unto you first God, having
raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
Acts 3:22-26 KJV
What Moses said there about God sending another prophet like Moses and the people would have to accept and heed his words is what Jesus was saying that they couldn’t hear
“He that
rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
John 12:48-50
Jesus is the one Moses said would come speaking Gods words that the people must accept
“He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth:
he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
For
he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:
and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
John 3:31-36 KJV
