What's important to me is the health and safety of others as well as the state of the nation. With all of the Idolatry, Sorcery (Pharm=aecia in Greek) (Drug abuse in English) pervasive sexual immorality. child sacrifice (abortion) and other abominations that our, (as well as others) nation(s) have allowed and embraced. God may be cleaning the camp. As in:
When the Israelites, led by Joshua attacked and destroyed Jericho. They were told not to take anything, at all. Achan disobeyed and took some plunder. He successfully hid it from everybody and thought he got away with it. God was angry.
When the Israelites proceeded to the next settlement named Ai, they were supposed to destroy it. Joshua discovered that it was small and appeared to be a pushover. So he mustered a reduced number of troops to attack and pillage the village. The Israelite forces were badly beaten, Joshua tore his clothes Joshua tore his clothes in sorrow and threw himself, face down in front of The Ark of the Covenant and questioned God, and God said: Joshua 7:11 Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions. 12That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction. niv
23 They took the things from the tent, brought them to Joshua and all the Israelites and spread them out before the Lord.
24 Then Joshua, together with all Israel, took Achan son of Zerah, the silver, the robe, the gold bar, his sons and daughters, his cattle, donkeys and sheep, his tent and all that he had, to the Valley of Achor. 25 Joshua said, “Why have you brought this trouble on us? The Lord will bring trouble on you today.” Then all Israel stoned him, and after they had stoned the rest, they burned them. 26 Over Achan they heaped up a large pile of rocks, which remains to this day. Then the Lord turned from his fierce anger. Therefore that place has been called the Valley of Achor[f] ever since.
Levitical law says:
Deuteronomy 23:13-14 13As part of your equipment have something to dig with, and when you relieve yourself, dig a hole and cover up your excrement. 14For the LORD your God moves about in your camp to protect you and to deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, so that he will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from you. NIV
Deuteronomy 23:14-16Contemporary English Version (CEV) 14 You must keep your camp clean of filthy and disgusting things. The Lord is always present in your camp, ready to rescue you and give you victory over your enemies. But if he sees something disgusting in your camp, he may turn around and leave.
