it doesn’t say it’s impossible for them to fall Away it says if they do that after receiving the Holy Ghost it’s impossible to bring them back again
If any Christian could lose their salvation, then God lied:
Link: God Lied!
it doesn’t say it’s impossible for them to fall Away it says if they do that after receiving the Holy Ghost it’s impossible to bring them back again
Rom 8The Bible doesn’t say Satan can’t tempt believers that’s ridiculous the first thing Jesus did when he received the spirit he was led by the spirit to be tempted of the devil to think receiving the Holy Spirit is guaranteed salvation should be pretty clearly refuted right here
“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.”
Hebrews 6:4-6 KJV
it doesn’t say it’s impossible for them to fall Away it says if they do that after receiving the Holy Ghost it’s impossible to bring them back again
God can still chastise us inspite of our sins being dealt with and paid for . Paying the penalty for our sins is one thing. Suffering the consequences of sinning is another .If we cheat on our wives, steal from work , and do drugs, we will suffer the consequences inspite . The penalty has been paid however .
tell that nonsense to Ananias and Shappire....."dont worry about lying to God, the penalty has already been paid for"
you are still not answering the quesion
Justified means "just as if it never happened"
would you as a father chastise children for doing nothing? what kind of father would do that
i hate to be redundant but if you believe all of your sins past/present/future were done away with at calvary then you cant tell a lie...
before you tell it, it is gone and forgiven
tell me how do you think that will happen when your whoremonger friend dies with a drug overdose after he just stole from his company. You really think GOD will say to this man "well done thou good and faithful servant"?????
Can we stick to the bible please ? Whats your question and what verses did you want to discuss?
It doesn't say they were tempted, it said Satan filled their hearts - the same way he filled the heart of Judas. And Hebrews isn't taking about born again believers, it's talking about Jews (Hence the book being called "Hebrews") who came close to accepting Jesus, (they "tasted") but decided to go back to the Temple sacrificial system. To do so means they could never repent and be saved - through that system!
My goodness, where do you get your theology - a cereal box?
Sorry I've spoken without your permission. I'll ask for your approval what to say next time![]()
yea that’s what anyone who sins is experiencing satans will in thier mind and heart .
my theology ? Um mine comes from what Jesus and his apostles taught and said to believe in the New Testament scriptures , beginning with the word of the Lord , and never ever to exclude it from my thoughts . if they have a cereal box like that , then .....yes I do brother“Kingdom Crunchies” let’s examine the back of the box
this sets up context
“And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.”
Acts 4:32-35 KJV
now this is what happened sin comes because of satans will in a person heart and mind in this case greed it doesn’t mean they were possessed by a demon and had no control or anything that’s what sin is obeying the will of Satan when he whispers it to us rather than obeying what God has said to us .
“But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart?
thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much?
And she said, Yea, for so much. Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.”
Acts 5:1-11
except for the modern grave version of the church , they don’t fear things like that .
They didn’t have to go sell their possessions and give it to the apostles they were never commanded as a rule to do so . the church was doing it because of Jesus teachings about mercy and truth and caring for one another and they were flourishing .
they went and did it , and then Satan spoke from greed in their hearts ( because that’s what he does ) and they agreed together to lie about how much they had received as God was just beginning to move in the church powerfully .
It’s meant as a warning to people who think it’s ok to sin now because of Christ’s sacrifice that’s not how it is sin is always going to lead to death and it’s a matter of who a believer chooses to serve whether sin through temptations or God through Christ and his gospel .
just like Paul taught receiving the spirit is one thing but following or rejecting it it is another.
“What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.”
Romans 6:15-18, 21-22 KJV
serving sin shows who we belong to , repenting and believing the gospel so he can change our will from sin to righteousness shows who we belong to
( fda warning contents of cereal within box may not be your flavor )![]()
Amen!!! You beat me to Acts chapter 4.....clearly they where believers that lied to the Holy Ghost. I do wish great fear would once again grip the hearts of people in the church again....
Some are certainly eating from the Fruit Loops Box
First, the Bible never states that Ananias and Sapphira were believers. There is absolutely no evidence in the passage that shows they were. In fact, it says the evil deed they conceived came from their hearts, and that Satan filled their hearts. That is impossible for believers because the Bible says believers are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit is not going to allow Satan to fill our hearts. Only unbelievers can have their hearts indwelt by Satan. Just like Satan indwelt the heart of Judas.
Also, it doesn't actually say God killed them. It simply says they "fell dead". To say God killed them for lying is akin to saying that, like Jonah, disobedient believers will be swallowed by a whale. Yes, Ananias and Sapphira lied about money and fell dead. But many people lie about money, even churchgoers. If God were killing churchgoers who lie about money, Sunday morning services all over the world would be littered with corpses.
Remember that telling a single lie, lusting, stealing, hatred, blasphemy etc. are all sins that incur the death penalty. The wages of sin is death. Jesus died. He paid the wages. There are no wages left! So, God is not killing believers for their sins. Jesus's sacrifice was enough - for ALL sins.
Hi! But not for all the sins of the world. Only the sins of those who receive Jesus as Lord (God and Master) and Savior, sincerely - are covered by Jesus' sacrifice for sins. And even they need to continue to repent of unintentional sins every day - since no one is sinless in this life. Only Jesus was perfectly sinless. All sins have been dealt with on the cross .
Hi! It's true if a Christian has become firm in his commitment to remain true to Christ throughout the end of his life - is no longer in danger of falling away, according to the Bible. But there are some who are not yet fully firm yet in that commitment, who do fall away, and I see the scriptures as saying that some do - and I see the scriptures as warning them against doing so. Remaining true to God isn't an unbearably difficult task - God would let it be that way. If anyone falls away from Christ, it is because they willingly allow themselves to do so.I would give the same answer to Christians who commit so-called "minor" sins. Sin is sin - and all Christians sin - every, single day. You sinned yesterday, you sinned today, and you'll sin tomorrow. The act of forgiveness has been completed. Jesus paid for them all. I've said this numerous times, but I'll say it again: A born again believer cannot go to hell even if he wanted to. God does not take back the gift of salvation under any circumstance.
Either the sin matter is finished regarding believers, or Jesus didn't accomplish what He intended on the cross.
1 John 2:2Hi!
The Lord's prayer shows a need to repent regularly of daily sins:
Matt 6:12
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
KJV
And to repent of sin - means to turn away from sin - and to choose to obey God in all things, instead. It will show in one's life - if a person has repented of his old sinful ways or not.
Matt 7:16-17
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
KJV
Out of interest why have you picked the Lords prayer ? Its in the old testament of the Gospel of Mathew . Its a Jewish corporate prayer and its before the cross?Hi! Turning or repenting from sin would be a work thus salvation by works if its necessary for salvation.Hi! But not for all the sins of the world. And Mathew 7 . Again its the old testament and its about false prophets .Hi! But not for all the sins of the world. I can’t help that you can’t maintain attention to a few sentences. I said nothing about deriving a doctrine from experience. If you’ll take 30 more seconds to read what I said.your personal struggle is exactly YOUR personal struggle. this does not create doctrine and neither does my experience
I am sorry but I do not read big chunks of type with no paragraphs![]()
In fact, just move on and forget it. No problem. I wrote it for people who are in need of some help. You seem to have it figured out without reading it.I can’t help that you can’t maintain attention to a few sentences. I said nothing about deriving a doctrine from experience.
