Paul the apostle to the gentiles mentions no requirement for keeping the sabbath . Quite the opposite.
Do you think God sees today's gentiles as a different race from that of Adam and Eve? I have read that God is eternal.
Israel was created long after man was created. Do you think the people of Israel are were a different kind of human?
Of course not . we need to see who certain commands were given to . Who the Author is speaking to ect .
Again thats not a good question . In fact considering most of the bible is about Jews thats a strange question .
The whole of the new testament is about Israel until we start seeing the transition to gentiles ,starting with Cornelius. This is 10 years after Acts 2 .
I have heard so often that God spoke only to Israel, didn't mean for the gentiles to listen in at all. Yet my concordance tells me the KJV has 117 verses about the stranger among them and 7 verses about the sojourner. I printed all these verses, and almost every one said that what the Lord told Israel was also for the stranger or the sojourner. To me that tells me that God includes instructions to us all, not just Israel, but others do not see that in these scriptures. I am not understanding why?
I think the whole of scripture is about mankind, not Israel. Israel was created to bless all mankind, both by the Messiah coming from Israel and that Israel showed the nations the Lord. That was their mission.
Gen. 12: 1-3 Now he Lord said1 to Abram, “Go from your country2 and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3 oI will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be bless
Doesn't it make it clear by the 119 verses mostly saying gentiles are included as the Lord speaks to Israel, that the addressing includes gentiles? Or not?
Of course the gentiles are in the picture . But when it says ' Israel ' that means Israel .
Of Course Gentiles are included in verses . I'm a gentile. But we are not Jewish / Israel .
If we don't make a distinction then we will have no clue whats going on .
In Acts 2 who is Peter addressing here ?
22¶Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
Of Course its Israel.
Then when it says strangers are included, it follows that it means strangers are included. In scripture the strangers and sojourners were gentiles.
Scripture speaks of ethnic Israel, the physical nation of the true Israel in God's eyes. Paul spoke of Israel as those who have faith. You feel that the old testament is speaking only to physical sons of Abraham, and it seems to me, according to scripture telling of speaking to strangers, that the instructions are given to mankind, telling of the ways of the lord. We see darkly, some day we will know for sure.
10 Ten Commandments are for all man kind....here Paul tells us that apart from the ceremonial practice the commandments are what matter. ( Sabbath included seeing how The Sabbath was made at creation for all not just Jews. ) no such thing as a Jew in the Garden of eden 1 Corinthians 7:19 (NKJV): 19 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters.
