To believe the Gospel? to respond to God's revelation ? No . Did you read those three verses I gave? Inability to be righteousnes in our own state ? of course . Thats why we need a righteousness not of our own . We don't want to be at the wedding banquet in our own rags .

The heart . There are many factors . Pride ect . Sometimes as we get older we can grow colder and harder .

Why did you feel inclined to search it out? I mean, who believes in the foolishness of the cross, if not those who are being saved.
