Have you never watched Duckula or read the Bunnicula books when you were a kid? Vegetarian vampire is a thing.
At least that is what they want you to think, oh foolish mortal/morsel. Bahaha

Cool, yeah he is a cool youtuber, I really like the anime youtubers that talk about older anime, I like new stuff as well, but there’s just something about older shows that I find more interesting, probably because it was before “the takeover of majorly long light novel anime titles”, lol :p, but yeah if you like youtubers like that, then I can recommend Bennet the Sage, he does have some language and “crude humor”, but without him, I wouldn’t have watched Outlaw Star, Bubblegum Crisis, and a lot of other older shows/learned about older anime. I’m unsubscribed from him right now cause he gave money to a group that helps homeless transgender black women, I get that he wants to help, I just still struggle with the whole LGTB group stuff.

Here’s his Bubblegum Crisis review:

That seems odd to me does it only help those specific types of people? Dont all homeless need help 🤔🤷‍♂️ I understand they mean well but, excluding other homeless people seems kinda sleazy. I could be wrong. But I understand your conundrum. Yeah older anime wasn't as niche and had a wider variety. I suggest the anime Jing the Bandit King. It's a classic.

Count Duckulas the one with a Vincent Price voice over, right?

Yeah that’s why it seemed weird, plus he did it during the whole “BLM” movement being at its highest point, so I think he did it out of some white guilt, he mentioned in his Mobile Fighter G Gundam review how some of the Gundams can be seen as offensive, which I can slightly see, especially with the Gundam they had from Africa, but I think with how “over the top” G Fighter is, “over the top” Gundam designs are expected, actually quite a few Mexican watchers (Or so they claimed) commented on the video how much they love Tequila Gundam. So while I see the good he was trying to do, I can’t help but think it might have had his political views put into donating the money.

But like a lot of people say: “Separate the artist from their art”, when the artist starts doing bad stuff/going downhill, you can still like what they make, even if you don’t agree with them. I actually just watched his Barefoot Gen review, it was very respectful...but you could tell he still struggles with “white guilt”, here’s that review:

I’ll have to look that one up, currently the most old school anime I’ve been watching here and there according to my list are:

-Yu Yu Hakusho
-Nadia: Secret of the Blue Water
-Marmalade Boy
-Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ
-Irresponsible Captain Tylor
-Slayers Try

That’s all the old stuff I have on DVD/Blu-Ray I need to finish, have a awful habit of starting shows, and forgetting/lazy about finishing them, lol 😅

Big yu yu hakusho fan. I had thousands of cards from the card game too I collected it for almost 2 decades. I've seen a few episodes of slayers and I've read a little bit of Marmalade Boy, but I might watch the anime soon. Another good one is The Getbackers

Cool, yeah I think I saw two episodes of Getbackers on VRV, and it was cool, I just have so much backlog, that it’s hard to finish stuff, lol. So for Marmalade it is good, but you have to remember this anime, romance anime, at a school, so I’m just leaving it at that. Like I’m okay with any straight relationship, like in After the Rain, a newer manga, which I recommend cause the art and characters are amazing, but it does feature a girl falling in love with her boss, that is way older, but I will say that they do actually end that manga in appropriate and respectful way. I’m just throwing that warning out there, just in case. Also, it can get very melodramatic, but I can’t help but love it, like saying “This is my melodrama trash, and I love it”. But you are talking to someone who has only seen up to Episode 17, out of 76 episodes so take what I say with a grain of salt, lol. Oh yeah, for Yu Yu Hakusho, I gotta watch Episode 94 next...but I think I might have left it like that do the last 2 years of needing to watch Episode 94, lol I fail.

For older anime I have actually finished, here’s the list cause why not, lol:

-Blue Submarine No.6
-Assemble Insert
-Boogiepop Phantom
-Bubblegum Crisis
-Cowboy Bebop
-FLCL
-Fruits Basket (The original one, not the new one)
-Golden Boy (Yes I have seen it...it was before I knew better, lol)
-Great Teacher Onizuka
-Gunsmith Cats
-Excel Saga
-Hellsing
-Now and then, here and there
- Jin-Roh
-Ninja Scroll
-Legend of Black Heaven
-Berserk (The original TV series)
-Martian Successor Nadesico
-Ghost in the Shell (95’ movie)
-Metropolis
-Mobile Suit Gundam
-Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
-Mobile Fighter G Gundam
-Neon Genesis Evangelion
-Scryed
-Outlaw Star
-Serial Experiments Lain
-Slayers
-Slayers Next
-Escaflowne
-The Big O
-Trigun
-Tenchi Muyo TV Universe

I just realized I have seen a lot more old stuff than I thought I had, lol, but I have definitely seen more newer to mid 2010s anime. I threw in some 2000s anime, since I looked it up and Getbackers is from 2002, so I put in some 2000 to 2001 shows.

Scryed was alot of fun. Believe it or not I've seen weirder anime than Excel Saga lol. FLCL of course a classic. Im going to have to rewatch G gundam (I got the super famicom fighting game) Outlaw star is probably on my top ten list. Big O was cool, I believe the animation was inspired by Batman The Animated series. Trigun is a very Christian-like anime. Neon Genesis I could never get into (It also inspired an awful cult back in the 90s) Ghost in a Shell great movie (It was one of my first R rated animes to see)

I don’t blame you for not getting into Neon Genesis Evangelion, the extreme fan base around it is like “You’re stupid if you don’t understand the show or give it a 10/10”, I stand by how it does have flaws, but I can respect it as a really well done deconstruction of the Mecha genre, plus Shinji is one of my favorite characters, even though everyone else hates him, that’s probably why I like him, lol. Yeah I can believe that for Excel saga, I don’t know if you know about Midori Days, but that’s the anime where the main guys right hand becomes the girl he is crushing on, no it’s a legit show, actually a good romance too, but it’s all explained with that love-able anime logic, lol. You are right on the Big O being inspired, too bad Season 2 was awful, loved Season 1, and so does my brother, not enough people have seen that show, very underrated. I would say my favorite anime movies right now are Jin-roh, Millennium Actress, Kiki’s Delivery Service (Saw it for the first time 2 days ago), Redline, and mostly everything from Marmou Hosoda (Except Wolf Children, not awful, just not as good as Summer Wars, The Girl who leapt through time, and Mirai, in my personal opinion).

I would say my Top 10 list looks like this right now, I don’t like having favorites, but I do rate my anime, these are all of my 10/10 ratings:

1: Cowboy Bebop
2: Gurren Lagann
3: Tatami Galaxy
4: Steins;Gate
5: Nichijou
6: Shirobako
7: Baccano
8: Mushishi
9: Code Geass
10: Penguindrum

I do have other 10/10 rated shows, and this list is pretty old, as in there is some stuff on here I haven’t seen in a long while. I used to be into reviewing anime on Instagram, but with understanding how much Christianity matters to me and how I haven’t been finishing shows on a good pace, I decided to stop reviewing, I even called my reviews STR (Or Sh*t Taste Reviews, cause everyone into anime likes to joke about that stuff, as in “You like Attack on Titan? Well then you have sh*t taste”, lol), but I still have my MAL, so I can keep up with my lists and to see what I actually have finished in a easy way.

Yeah, I have the first two manga and the Midori Days anime, I got into it when it came out in the west in the early 00s. It is an odd one. As for top ten I dont have one for anime rn but I do for video games. I've seen Cowboy Bebop a zillion times but I barely remember anything other than the last episode lol.

Lol I actually wasn’t expecting anyone else on here to know about a Midori Days, since it is rather unknown and is very weird.

For videogames I would definitely have to think, cause I’ve played a lot of different games. Yeah, on MAL you can display your “Top 10” of each category they have: Anime, Manga, Actors/People, so it’s easy for me to have a list ready, the manga one I’m not too sure on, as I didn’t really update my manga that much on MAL, but definitely did for the anime. I might one day post everything I have seen for fun, but only when I feel like it, lol.

yeah my list is very diverse video game wise. I've been playing them my whole life. I dont read manga often as I prefer the physical copies. And unfortunately the manga I want to read have all been out of print for over a decade. They seem to fetch ridiculous prices on Ebay too lol.
