I am having a second cup of coffee today I just returned from a grocery shopping excursion where I bought six liters of cranberry juice, on your strong recommendation @SoulWeaver ... among a few other things I had thought of it last time when I was in Capers/Whole Foods, but while looking a their juice selections it slipped my mind that cranberry was what I was actually looking for This time however I skipped Capers and just went into Safeway. I also bought a turkey meatloaf Thanksgiving is coming up here, and it is very likely I will be spending it alone and not having dinner with my daughter's family as I normally would Speaking of turkey (gobble gobble!) my church fam is generously setting up a page for people to help me out with meals. I told them anything more than once a week would be too much I love my church fam dearly as they are truly wonderful people The woman who is setting the page up has promised me turkey from their Thanksgiving dinner, with lots of stuffing. Oh my goodness, stuffing is the best It is funny because I do not think of my diet as being really restricted right now, and yet in going over what I cannot or will not or do not like to eat, wow, the list just kept growing and growing LOL! And I told her, no desserts I have zero sweet tooth now! Except for coffee = sweet and creamy
Cooking for friends is fun, I like sharing food! I wish you lived closer. Unless when you're baking one of those 100.000. kiloton calorie cakes, then I'm glad you're far away. lol
I'm about to cook some sweet potatoes as a side to chicken thighs... I cut them thinly into fries and freeze in big amounts for convenience I like them more than normal fries... I either bake them or shallow fry on low on butter, spiced with this mix, if anyone wants to try: fish spice (with cinnamon), powdered garlic, nutmeg, black pepper, soul food spice (add cayenne pepper if you want more hotness), and I sometimes also add cheese spice for popcorn into that mix...
