Exactly, he does use scripture, but he see them through a calvin lens or in his case an anti calvin lens
I used to do the same thing. Every time I read scripture I was looking for fodder to bash something. Polemics are important, but they can really be over emphasized.

I used to too, I think it was trained, someone pointed it out to me awhile months. And I have tried to change, I saw how much it hurt no only me but those who I spoke to,

Even the one who holds some Calvinistic views has said he’s not a Calvinist per se.
Yes, thank you.

when you start seeing people who are not there, it is time to sit back and reevalue

It’s definitely trained in some churches. Many actually.

I believe in polemics and I believe in apologetics, but each in its place.

Hyper Calvinism is Calvinism taken to the extreme to where evangelism and soul winning is rejected.

God only elects believers. He does not elect those who persist in unbelief. So He does “choose” one over another, right?

All I can state is this comment
God only elects believers.
is different than your other stated position.

A. Election. God’s choice of individuals.
Did you mean saved individuals?

And each can go to far.

its like the view everyone who believes in eternal security are calvinist, or free gracers or love their sin. When you think this is all there is, any chance of conversation is destroyed, and you start to attack anyone who believes in eternal security, it can get nasty, to the point of name calling, false accusation, and blame shifting.

to much of that happens, and it gives God a bad name in my view

Yes, the believer is predestined for adoption.

Yes, the future redemption of the body is one aspect of adoption.

Yes, the moment a person calls on the Lord, he or she is justified.

But call comes before faith and predesination comes before call. Romans 8:30 gives the chain in its logical order. Predestined, called, justified, glorified.

Or we all can agree to disagree on this point.
And one calling upon the name of the Lord is what sets those things in motion.

Actually his name was Jakob Harmenszoon.
The issues supposedly settled in what is properly named the Second Synod of Dordrecht.
I'm aware of the in house squabble . That still goes on today . Christianity has been getting along just fine without Beza s student( James ) and Augustines successor ( Calvin ). James never left Calvinism the same way Luther never fully escaped Rome .

It seems like we have 3 views here .
1) Forseen faith
2) 'Absolute predestination '
or 3) What the bible actually says .
The first two are just variations of the same error on Total depravity , Election, Predestination and Perseverence . If your a Arminain you are closer to Calvinism . This is a in-house squabble. Most denomination s are caught in one or the other ditches. Thats why we get folks conceding oh I must be a 4 point calvinist; I must be a 3 or 2 pointer not realising both systems are in error.

This is a horrible post

It assumes your
View is biblical. And basically shuts down all Conversation
