How far back does your memory go? Jesus instituted a ritual for remembrance. "Do this in remembrance of me" That ritual in remembrance continues. It's Sacred because Jesus instituted it and it's been done faithfully. So what memory would have the universal character and content that the Holy Spirit would be drawing from that re-minds the Church and is able to lead to All Truth? Sacred Tradition. Sacred Scripture is like the textbook for keeping orthodox and teaching. The bible isn't like memory it's like a photo album with baby pics.
