Remember when Moses and Elijah appeared and began to talk to Jesus at the Mount of Transfiguration, Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

Notice what happened next immediately when Peter tried to use his good works and his love!

The scripture says, "While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid."

God the Father is only pleased with Jesus Christ, His Son!

Our righteousnesses are as filthy rags!

This is why we live by His Faith
His Righteousness
His Love
His Works
His Obedience
His...ALL

All of our works must be produced and birth by the Holy Spirit or they are dead works (rotten-fruit). Revelations 3:1

How do we allow the Holy Spirit to produce and birth His Works?
seperating the holy spirit apart from love is not something I would advise. God is love his spirit is love Jesus is love so if we do anything by the holy spirit are we not also doing it by his love? can you have a relationship if you seperate love from him? the holy spirit is who gives us that love and maybe for you a relationship is one sided but for me at least the more I know his love the deeper I fall in love with him and the more that love becomes one because we grow closer and closer to him Jesus calls us his bride for a reason marriage is about unity two seperate beings becoming one no longer two seperate people but one and love is the bond that binds it.

Without the holy spirit we would not know his love if we act from the guidence of he who is love then how are you able to seperate them like that? I am not trying to be rude I have just honestly never heard of someone speaking as if the two are not the same thing

The bible is clear that you can frustrate Grace (Gal. 2:21). Jesus said to the Church of Sardis (these are Christians) “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead." Rev. 3:1

Many have removed themselves from Christ: see Gal. 1:6 (Matthew 7:14)

This is your standard line, but it's not biblically sound. You completely overlook the context in which Paul wrote those words. He was addressing a problem with Judaizers, not struggling Christians. Get your head straight and stop peddling an aberrant gospel!

Doesn't aberrant mean departing from an accepted standard? Or diverging from the normal type? Just asking for clarification :)
Thanks!

If a Christian can not frustrate Grace (Gal. 2:21, Rev. 3:1), why do Christians divorce? Answer: Grace (the help of the Holy Spirit-Romans 8:2) is not working in that marriage! They have entered into the Law of sin and death-Rom. 8:2.

Yes, the first is a better definition in this case. MoTC constantly quotes Jimmy Swaggart's material, some of which is clearly contradictory to Scripture. It's usually not so bad that I would call it "false" but it is definitely emphasizing the wrong things and is based around Swaggart's personal opinions about Scripture, not Scripture itself.

Message why do you think I always say there is a vast difference between a Christian by title and a Christian by heart? They take the title which is life but are dead they do religion they do works they play the role on stage but are anything but what they pretend to be this verse is not talking about people falling from faith although I do believe it is possible however the verse you are using specifically says what I always say
The wheat and the chaff will one day be seperated and one day very very soon and everyone will be clearly seen for who they are

Why not receive all the LORD’s benefits of this resurrection life now? Psalms 103:2

Because it is in his timing not ours spalm 103:2 is speaking of praising him and always remembering and cherishing his promises it never said that we would recieve all of them whenever we please.
What is good is learning patience and learning to trust him if we can treat him like a wishmaker? a tree that produces fruit is a perfect example to look at.

"dead works" is not from scripture, it is something made up by men. So men have to make up the answer to it, and we are not to add or take away from scripture.

Ah that ego boost... when you speak of sins, or situations, you personally haven't done, or been in, so in the end even you yourself start believing you are better than others. It must feel great to have all the answers, PLUS feel holier than thou as an added bonus.

the law of sin and death is to be walking in our own ways. to become free of of sin and death and their laws which bring death (physical and spiritual) we must learn how to walk in Life (the laws of life and Christ) instead.

no divorcing really in reality in another sense if you have not become 1. you must run the race, fight the good fight to at last arrive at true marriage -- two become 1.

"But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
The Future Glory
18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. 19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse."

we too are under the curse, but not all are as cursed or the same curse. some are born into great trouble and others not so.

Yet, what did Jesus Christ say to the Church of Philadelphia.....

.....wasn’t it something about how pleased He is with their love and He rebukes them for nothing......:love:(y)

Not true. Check your Bible (the KJV) and read and study Hebrews and James carefully. Particularly Hebrews since you are very shaky on the New Testament (Covenant).

Notice out of the Seven Churches only One Church had entered into that narrow way. Matthew 7:14

Paul said that ALL the Churches in Asia have forsaken him.

This is why only a Remnant will be saved. See Romans 11

Only one tribe of the twelve tribes of Israel came out from among the Golden Calf worshippers in Exodus 32. The Way of the Cross might feel lonely, but we are never alone!

We March On!

Out of 603,550 men who were readied for war that came out of Egypt under the power of God (Numbers 1:44-46), only two took their inheritance; Joshua (a type of Christ) and Caleb (a type of the body of Christ) (Matthew 7:14). There is only one message that changes the body of Christ into the image of Christ, and that is Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

Clement was the head of the church in Smyrna that God was pleased with. Clement was a companion of John. We have many of his writings about how that church lived.

The big change in church doctrine happened when Constantine decided to unite Christianity, and used the same methods that he used for his government, he called for a council. Before the churches went to the church closest to the apostles if they had a question, they were against change for scripture told them not to add or take away.

Constantine convinced them the Holy Spirit was with them, so they could make changes and the Lord would approve. Scripture tells us to test the spirits, for the Holy Spirit never changes the words of the Lord.

Good works accomplish God’s purpose and are by the grace of God, for in ourselves we can never accomplish what God has put before us.

Ephesians 2:10 says:
All my good works were prepared by God beforehand that I SHOULD walk in them”

Those who use and understand the English language correctly know that the word SHOULD is a directive and obligation to act. No choice, as opposed to "would" or "could"

It is no mistake or misinterpretation that the word SHOULD is used in Ephesians 2:10. Of course we are obliged!..... how else can we function as a child of God unless He puts the good work right under our noses and then causes us to act according to His purpose, because we must remember always that in ourselves there is NO good thing, the good that I do is Christ working through me. Whether we are ministers of the gospel or ministers of service, the good works we do are not by the flesh but by the Spirit of God.

Since the scripture is adamant that we are obliged to walk in these good works that God prepared, then I must assume that whether I recognize what I am doing as a good work or not, it is God alone who determines that what I am doing is His good work or the work of my own flesh. We are obliged to do the work that God puts before us, and if we wander from that path, it is God who brings us back to the work at hand.

It is obvious that man likes to think outside of God’s box and longs to create good works that satisfy man’s ideas and his need to be God’s servant, but of course God has already decreed who His servants are and what they will accomplish for Him. And yes, God does have a box and we are to do all our thinking inside of that “box”, which is the mind of Christ that we are to put on and heed. The Box is the word of God, found in the scriptures alone, His word to His people, the words of Christ to be taken in and lived out with no additions or subtractions.

It is not temporal good works that are in view in that verse.
