I don't think there is a single biblical definition of it, it's a simple set of words but has deep roots.
Faith without works is dead and vise versa but is is more than faith and works it is works of all kind anything done in this life that is done without love and faith has no life in it.
There is a good works and bad works in this life that people do in general but that sense and feeling inside of doing God's work in love and with faith is the only kind that I have experienced that does more than make me feel good, his love is not the same as normal love his joy is not like normal joy his sense of fulfilment is not the same as normal sense of fulfillment.
it's kind of like how you can be alive but be dead at the same time so people seek that sense to feel alive in all kind of things I had a friend once who was by definition a christian by title only he did everything you would do as a Christian but eventually laughed at the thought of God being real because his works had no life in them.
Everyone talks about works but works are only defined as actions or deeds personally I think works go deeper than that such as prayer you can talk to God all you want but will feel like you are talking to air without love and only in coming to him can we know his love and then have the faith . You can even be judged by the thoughts in your mind God detests perverted or scheming thoughts but people who always think good thoughts tend to be more positive they even when they are not saved tend to be attractive to people who enjoy their company.
This is why when you are saved and people can just sense or see this life in you they wonder why and how you have it I think works are more than deeds I think they are not just based on what is inside you but are also why you are that way.
Although take what I say with a grain of salt I am still recovering from being so my head is kind of hazey still plus I couldn't sleep last so if it doesn't make a lot of sense forgive me

Dead works are the works of the Law of Moses for the purpose of being justified by works (e.g. circumcision). The Pharisees were involved with trying to be justified in this manner, but justification is purely by God's grace through faith in Christ and His finished work of redemption. See Romans 4.
Why did Jesus tell these people who thought they were Christians at the Great White Throne Judgement that their works in His Name are iniquity (Matthew 7:21-23)? The scripture says that they did what the scripture was telling them to do in Jesus's name. But it was judged as iniquity; why? Something is wrong, despite their zeal. See also Rev. 3:1

for instance by typing in the words love faith and life I easily found this Galations 5:6
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.
Circumcision was used in a specific way here it came after he said for in Jesus Christ it then goes on to speak about faith by love now this could be seen as what I described if you choose to look at it that way but honestly I learned the thing I said not by simply discecting scripture but I pondered the things deeper I am just weird that way.
God so loved loved the world that he gave his only son so that we may have eternal life yes? but think deeper than the appearance of the verse what was the motive of every work Jesus did? love. what did he give us by his works and with the motive of his works? life,we were dead but are now alive however if say we do works and have amazing faith but no love we don't give life and we recieve no life but only those who are not in Christ do this because the concept of faith and works alone cannot make one alive or give them life they are dead men working having faith but have no real fruits love is what created life life is given to those who have faith in Jesus and works are done in love because we are in Jesus.
The motive of the heart will always be the deciding factor anything without life is dead and life is love or rather love is what gives life so again forgive me if I am not making sense I hope to be feeling better soon.

If you believe this (which is 100% correct) why do you and others call this the Jimmy Swaggart gospel when I say that the Believers Faith must be placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work at Calvary Cross where the victory was won?
Both. A christian has a relationship relationships need to go both ways in order to work we love him because he first loved us and one cannot have true faith in him if they don't love him and know and have his love.
salvation is all about his love for us but faith is a relationship we have his love in us that starts as a seed in the beginning but the more it grows the deeper the bond and thus the deeper we fall in love with him which then brings trust and faith
Remember when Moses and Elijah appeared and began to talk to Jesus at the Mount of Transfiguration, Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
Notice what happened next immediately when Peter tried to use his good works and his love!
The scripture says, "While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid."
God the Father is only pleased with Jesus Christ, His Son!

All of our works must be produced and birth by the Holy Spirit or they are dead works (rotten-fruit). Revelations 3:1
How do we allow the Holy Spirit to produce and birth His Works?
Because the cross of Christ cannot be divorced from His empty tomb. It is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ which is at the heart of the Gospel. Christians must proclaim Christ and Him crucified, and at the same time they must proclaim that He destroyed the power of death through both His crucifixion and His resurrection.
ACTS 2: THE GOSPEL IS THE DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION OF CHRIST
30 Therefore [David] being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

By the way, when we stay Christ Crucified we are proclaiming that He destroyed the power of death through both His Crucifixion and His Resurrection. Col. 2:13-15
