Born Again is a BIRTH........the seed of Adam in us dies and we are born again of the Incorruptible Seed of The Word of God which is Jesus Christ - our Lord, Savior and King.

We are a NEW Creation, the old is passed away. The sinful "nature" that loved evil is gone; we now have a spiritual "nature" that loves God and will grieve over sin. We have this new spiritual nature because of Jesus Christ (The Word) indwelling us and sealing us with the Holy Spirit at our new birth.

We know we are saved because the Holy Spirit bears witness to the Truth that indwells us. However, we must still contend with our flesh - this can confuse a new believer - they don't understand why they still do evil when they love God. How can this be?!

So, many will doubt their salvation and start trying to earn it because they really do love God and want to obey Him. So, they become very critical of themselves and others because they become focused on "works." They only "feel" saved when they are "doing a good work."

All that are born again of the Word and Spirit of God with the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ are saved. We just need to learn how to walk in this new life in Christ.

We must renew our minds with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit of God so we can know the perfect will of God and do it. This will take time - no baby is born already knowing how to walk. We must learn to walk by the Spirit so we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

We can tell our flesh "No!" Sin no longer has dominion over us. We have power over sin. We need the power of the Holy Spirit active in us, just like a cellphone needs to be "activated" to operate - it needs "power."

The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is our "activation" - we can now hear God's voice, see dreams and visions, understand the scriptures in measure as the Holy Spirit teaches us. We're now busy about the Kingdom of God that is coming to the Earth......and we now witness and testify of Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord and King.

The only work we did for salvation was to BELIEVE on Jesus Christ - His work for our salvation.
Now, any good works we do are by the power of the Holy Spirit for the Kingdom of God but, NOT for salvation.
Any bad works we do now are by the flesh.

We must choose to follow Jesus Christ, by following the leading of the Holy Spirit as revealed in God's Word - the two agree.

Born again in a nutshell

“He who was dead in trespasses and sin was made alive (born again) in christ

How is one born again?

According to Jesus

“For god so loved the world he sent his only begotten son that whosoever believers in him shall
Never perish but has everlasting life” (born again)

What’s your “perspective” on Romans 5:18?
Romans 5:18 is quite straightforward.

ADAM'S DISOBEDIENCE -----> BROUGHT DAMNATION TO ALL MANKIND

CHRIST'S RIGHTEOUSNESS ------> BROUGHT THE OFFER OF ETERNAL LIFE AS A FREE GIFT TO ALL MANKIND (THROUGH JUSTIFICATION)

I think verse 19 of Romans 5 helps with the understanding of verse 18.

Justification is a RESULT of the free gift of Salvation because the righteousness of Jesus Christ justifies us as righteous.

Romans 5:18-19 New King James Version (NKJV)

18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.

19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

See Romans 4 for total clarity. Only those who believe the Gospel are justified by grace through faith. And justification cannot be divorced from the free gift of eternal life. At the same time, the righteousness of Christ is IMPUTED to the one who believes.

What’s your “perspective” on Romans 5:18?
That it needs verses 19, 20 & 21, the remainder of chapter 5 and chapters 8, 9, 10 & 11 in order to BEGIN to proclaim a Biblically accurate, useful and coherent doctrinal statement.

What’s your “perspective” on Romans 5:18?
Romans 5:18, KJV: "Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life."

I have explained that verse a few times here already. On her own, the passage from Romans 5:12-19 appears to lend support to the Calvinist position of limited atonement.

In this passage, Paul is saying that all of us, having descended from Adam, are born in sin. We didn’t have a choice there, it is enough to be a human being for us to be born in sin.

Yet, in order to be saved, Jesus being our substitute is not sufficient in itself, we need to receive it by faith (v17), in order to be righteous.

No doubt you just need to receive this free gift by faith so Jesus made it very easy for us to be saved, he has done all the work.

But from this acknowledgement, I do understand why some people might find the concept of limited atonement appealing.

It will solve the asymmetry problem. If Adam sin is indeed so powerful that it condemns all human beings to be born with sin, not giving us any choice, it may make sense to also believe that Jesus, being the final Adam, did at least an equally powerful work, by making this salvation irresistible to those who are elected by God.

Evidently you are confused about the matter, since this is incorrect. The reason why Paul uses the word "many" is simply because all will not obey the Gospel.

But all of us who are born immediately obey Adam and got that sinful nature, regardless of whether we decide to do so or not correct?

It is not a matter of obeying Adam but allowing the old Adamic nature (the flesh) to express itself in sinful thoughts and actions. No one is exempt because of Adam. At the same time the free offer of eternal life is to all, but only those who obey the Gospel will receive the gift of eternal life (John 3:36).

Jesus said..
If you love Me keep my commands.

Jesus is the focus.

He is first calling us to love Him and because we do we can love others.

Yet remember Jesus first loves us...
so He is the source of that love.
Thank you for taking patience with me.
Is it that if we love Jesus then he would want only what is best for those who love him? Is that why he said we should follow his commands? Like rules for a child that keeps them safe. Are those of Jesus not like unto the same thing for those who believe in him when we're in this world that is not a paradise. Do the commands then help us to stay safe within it by knowing a higher path by which to travel it and with God's guidance?

Isn't trust and feeling safe what make it easier to believe in love? And that I am lovable? And feeling that wouldn't I then be able to relax and trust I can love others?

I used to use symbols like this when I answer more than one question, or at the top, but then DROPPED the Comic Sans MS font. Which made a PERFECT red Cross, when you used the small "t". As you can see, it is not CROSS shaped in any other font that we have now. It seems like a simple thing to a font, so I am going to suggest they add the Comic Sans MS font.

I am not sure if the platform can be changed/customized (probably not) BUT you can 'program' your posts with code, and more specifically, fonts. @Deade is an expert on this...

Do you understand the point I made regarding the lack of choice for anyone to be in the first Adam?

You mean like the word “world” in John 3:16 doesn’t really mean world? That kind of “coherent” doctrinal statement?
