Only loose doctrinal statements are appropriate, as much of what's written in the Bible is pitting tensions against each other and doctrine seeks to resolve those tensions. If the tension exists in the Bible I will preserve that tension by not setting doctrine.

Further, I would say that the doctrine of election IS the work of God.

You would think that the work of the Father choosing a Bride for his dear Son should be near the top of His to do list.

I would hazard to say that the Bible itself is a treatment of systematic theology.
I guess I'd better burn that 3 inch book on systematic theology that my pastor just gave me a couple of months ago. Oddly enough I found it extremely compelling reading and I really loved it.

Amen! This is expressly why it is not all about man. The Father has a plan for the Son He Loves. An Eternal gift of Love. A bride, that will love Him and Praise Him forever. That Bride is made up of true believers, the universal assembly, which is the body of Christ. The Father would have never left such a precious gift, to the whims and fantasies of men. He would have assured it's completion and that it will be a perfect representation of His love for the Son. Some of us, just happened to be included. Very humbling.

yeah well, it is what it is....You guys can mouth us all day long, tell us we don't understand, know etc.....and at the end of the day we are not the ones embellishing and adding to the word....and if what you say is true, then that means I am being mouthed behind my back......very very biblical hey!

Could it be that you needed to write these things because your dogma is short on truth so you resorted to ad hominem and gossip?
