In the bible study the old king james version says carcasses,but i feel the nkjv says it better as corpses as carcasses to me refers to animals and i tjink it shows more respect to a human body made by God.im not a only kjv person but my church is.what do you think?as i was going to debate it at the end of the study but you dont get a change to dissagree with the speaker and i dont think its right.one person voicing.a opinion and thinking everyone had to accept this word.

Take my advice, friend, and find a new house of worship. In the meantime don’t get hung up on semantics.

Perhaps the meaning of carcass has evolved from the time of the translation. Perhaps the word in the original language is to blame. I do know people who came together to construct the KJV were most educated in English, ergo the word must not have been so offensive at the time as it seems to be for some now.
Myself, I do not mind what is bound for the fire next time to be referred to as a carcass since our Father finds us in no matter what condition we become, rotted to dust or burned to ashes.

You know what the authors are saying. Much of the language is almost humorous to peple today, but the ones given to write it were not ignorant.

I have been reading about what men like Clement and Origen had to say about being a Christian, telling how the people in the first Christian churches thought. They held fast to Christ, but weren't much for dogma. Those people would have let the ones who argued about trifles argue away if they wanted to but wouldn't pay them much attention.

Carcass is correct. It doesn't matter what you or I think when it comes to the word of truth.

Well, God does. Every word is important to God. The words of the Lord are pure words. Every word is important to God, so much so, He commanded us not to add to or take away from His words.

Perhaps scripture meant to demean them. Those who fell in the wilderness tested the Lord so sorely that at Kadesh-Barnea the Lord wanted to wipe them out. After seeing all the miracles of Egypt, those at the Red Sea, and those in the wilderness, they still declared God unable to fight their battle for the Good Land (Numbers 14).

But perhaps the word itself is there to enlighten us. The root of the Greek word means "to lop parts of the body off". It was a terrible disgrace that after all the things that God did for them, they "got lopped from the main body of Israelites" who did enter the Good Land, and got "lopped from their birthright" as given in Covenant to Abraham. They despised God, so He in turn despises them.

Is this something to be even concerned about? The use of "carcass" indicates the worthlessness of those who rebelled against God, and had an "evil heart of unbelief" in departing from the living God.

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. (v 12)

it depends on the translation. They all use so many different words. I guess, whatever words are different than what is given in the KJV, God's perfectly completed preserved word of truth.
