No 'But '

If this is true, no one is saved, because no one can be saved until they repent and come to God in faith, you are not made alive in sin

Does you salvation message include a 'but '
For Example : ' But you have to repent of your sins "

But that faith is never alone ( calvinists)

Why are some adding to :

Can it be that it really is good news ?

I am beyond grateful that grace is what saves and defines us as his because if it had anythning to do with my efforts or how little I screw up I would not make the cut

I'm just not sure on that , because it just says ' because they believe not in me ' . Which other verse would you use for ' sins in general ' that the Holy spirit convicts of ?

@Deuteronomy correction/addtion... on my first comment.

We have a positional sanctification in Christ ... however living outwardly "our new nature" does depend upon abiding and walking in the Spirit and God does not force this ... we yield and abide in Him... it is a learned process and does require our cooperation.

No offense, but I believe that it is you that has it contrary to gospel truth.

I explained exactly why I posted my reply to your post, and do not see any reason to repeat it.

The natural man, before he has been quickened to a spiritual life cannot discern the things of the Spirit, and thinks them to be foolishness. The Holy Spirit is given as part of the quickening process.

And yet its clear the immature believer thinks foolish of the things of the spirit . With respect, this is the problem with Calvinism, that's why they cannot understand the things of the bible, once the system has replaced the authority of the scriptures. Their is no spiritual growth in Calvinism because they give over their sense making to calvinism.

One has to disregard other parts of the bible to believe this...

If we are not convicted of being sinners, we have no basis to repent or believe

even the world knows things they do are sin, and are convicted at times, that is the Hs in my view

Not until a man repents can he even hope,to,recieve the spirit

I just do not see how a person can repent if they are not convicted of sin, if you do not think your a sinner, your either gonna laugh and say Christianity is foolish, or be a modern day pharisee who believes in god but does not need Christ So he will either seek god religiously or be a legalistic Christian
