THE UNITED STATES believes Cuba has started to release prisoners from its jails and suspects that President Fidel Castro is about to send them to join the boat people leaving the island for Florida.
This would immediately escalate the confrontation between Washington and Havana. During the last exodus of Cubans in 1980, Mr Castro created a crisis for the White House by sending criminals, drug addicts and mentally retarded people to the US.

Maybe it is still happening. A couple weeks ago at work some big Cuban guy with tattoos clubbed a tiny defensive woman with a pipe and then took off running. Not sure if the cops caught him or not. He needs to go to prison and then deported back to where he came from. There are a lot of Cubans where I work and none of them bothered to learn to speak English except for a few that learned how to say good morning and an occasional thank you. Generally, they stay in their little cliques.

I agree with your post except the 'Mr. Castro' part. The guy was a real pig who got off on mistreating people. He certainly doesn't rate a "Mr." .

I think it depends if we actually need more immigrants for functional purposes. If so then what is that functional purpose? If the intent of allowing immigration is to do what the already present populace can do without them then the purpose of immigration becomes defeated.

If they claim it is purely for humanitarian reasons then they should be highly selective with who they allow in. If people are coming and placing unnecessary burden on the local, state, and national economies, increasing crime, reducing quality of life for others, then it isn't humanitarian.

The government is either unwilling or unable to stop immigration or there are ulterior motives. After eliminating all possible good motives there is a strong case to make for sinister intent.

Large scale immigration is the exact same thing as war. It's happening in Europe. It's happening in the US.

When the muslims were raping and pillaging in Christian Europe a long time ago, there were certain people living in those Christian strongholds that would open the gates for the invaders to let them in. They were working against their Christian hosts. These people are doing the same thing today. Both in Europe and in the US.

I know a lot of Americans who will do manual labor but either don't or won't because they are undercut by cheaper foreign immigrant labor. They can't compete with that. It's standard practice in the farmhand industry to hire/pay "under the table."

The H-1B market is cornered. If you research that you'll find that the people who originally came here under an H-1B visa eventually became citizens themselves and bought up franchises for convenience stores. Then they call back home to all of their family and friends, guaranteeing to hire them at their store in the US. They played the long game and still are.

Eventually more and more H-1B immigrants get here permanently, spread out across the land to start their own franchise, call back home to get their family and friends on board, then repeat the process.

Yes, definitely. The government controls the quotas for the H-1B visa program. They know it gives jobs to international workers while citizens struggle with unemployment. They know that by creating diversity quotas and tax incentives for foreign workers only encourages businesses to not hire American. I think Trump is actually trying to reverse this.

Migrants getting pampered are future votes. That is why Europe is doing a lot for refugees and economic migrants. Her own people have turned against the EU so the EU is depopulating her own people.
Most European people want to leave EU and let each country decide for its own.

What is totally inexcusable is that given the history of bitter relations between Mexico and America for almost 200 years, not a single politician or president saw fit to build a proper wall along the southern border. And Trump's wall is not a wall -- it is merely a fence, and people have been known to scale over it. It also collapsed in some sections because of natural disasters.

And there are still tunnels which are being discovered under the border. Had a proper wall extended at least 50-100 feet both above and below ground level, with proper safeguards, the traffic in narcotics and humans could have been stopped altogether. And drones could be used to patrol the border 24/7 without risk to border agents.

Of course not, the typical American worker is going to take the full-time employment versus seasonal part-time employment even if job has an average wage less than the average wage for the seasonal part-time work of $13.03 an hour. Migrant farm work isn't the only labor intensive type of employment in the labor market.

What is privileged? Law abiding?
In the America I use to know immigrants expecting to attain citizenship status were required to speak and read basic English.They would have to prove it in their interview with immigration and naturalization officials when filing the N400 citizen application.

Most people abroad know English. There really is no excuse not to when living in a country that borders America. There is also a difference between those who claim not to speak the language and those who know the language but refuse to speak it. What person steals into a country and then claims to be too dumb to speak the native tongue?
In Germany some retail products are labeled in other language but not as a matter of mandate.
America seems to be the only country that is weak when protecting its self in these areas.
