I am having issues with CC and how the phone app is working....I have a Samsung 8 Galaxy and if I am writing a post and I go to use the button to move cursor backwards to correct a spelling error it will close my keyboard and I will have to retouch screen where I want to start writing again to continue writing....it did not do it while I was writing this message in a PM to Robo, but does it in the open forum in the Bible Discussion area....anyone else having this issue?

Figured it out... need to turn on your predictive typing in settings.. I had turned my off and that is when my problems started.

I turned it back on and now the keyboard stays while I move to delete or move cursor backwards.

I never use or have used predictive text.....hate it....and it causes one to be lazy and spelling goes down the tubes.....seems to he working fine now....had issues for a few days, but worked itself out I guess hahah

Glad it worked out... I did change my settings and had to go back to what was a default on the phone. Seems to be better.
I do agree about predictive spelling and auto correct.

The site seems to have a variety of potential issues. On FF I had the issue that when I changed the cursor placement the whole page would jump to the top.
On DuckDuckGo's browser the keyboard slid down when I used backspace.
And even a separate issue on Opera, that I'm forgetting what happens.
My gf has the same phone I do and had the page jumping to the top and the keyboard issues, both, on FF.
The page jumps are intermittent. Sometimes when i came on it would start immediately and other times i may post several posts before it happens.
Predictive typing is on, so that didn't stop the keyboard issue.

None of these issues occur outside of CC. And all on my phone.

Also it's not the app, it's the site. The only official CC app is only for chat rooms.

Apparently, it was a little gremlin of some sort causing problems. Glad that the problem resolved itself.

Can you get rid of my gremlin?

Probably not going to be fixed without a program change. I suggest a laptop.

That sounds very annoying. What I do is shut everything down reboot the computer. If you have wifi, on any given time there may be too many people in the area that is online and this would tend to slow things down too.

All these issues are cell phone based. The site seems to have various issues when used on cell phones. At least with Android phones.

When you are using a browser by the smartphone and you are on CC go on settings and check the option "desktop version" it will fix many problems.. because this site was first designed for the desktop version, this is the reason why it has some problems with smartphones.

Yes this makes sense to me....however...
I am thinking it is both the browser (I am using Google Chrome) and CC.
I did have it on lite mode and have switched it back over to regular .... desk top....however soon as I hit the back space button the keyboard goes down.

Perhaps I need to switch browser to Edge or Firefox...unless you have another suggestion.

Thanks

I had no problems before.. so perhaps some upgrade has made it glitchy .... just as well actually.

Yes, issues could be related to browsers also, each one has its own implementation.
I would suggest you duckduckgo browser. I haven't found problems in using it, on cc neither

i was having this problem on android pie with swiftkey keyboard last week too. it sorted itself after a couple days, and i assumed it was successive browser or keyboard app updates that both caused and fixed it, because it wasn't happening 2 weeks ago & it's not now.
