Is the teaching of Jesus before His crucifixion only for Jews?

In 15:24, Jesus is saying what prophecy said. He was sent to the Jews first. His coming was the fulfillment of Gods Covenant to the Jews. (see Romans 9:5-8) (Romans 1:16)

Matthew 10:5 is the same as above. Salvation was to the Jew first. Key word being first.

I believe that Matthew 19:28 refers to those Jews by birth who denied Jesus being judged. This does not justify saying that his teachings were for the Jews only. Fulfilling Prophecy was required to establish that Jesus was the promised Messiah.

Even in the instance where Jews are spoken of directly does not mean that those Scriptures are not for us. We can learn from all Scripture. Much of the Old Testament was for the Jews, but it all serves to educate us today. Every teaching of Jesus has value for the Christians of today I believe.

Yes, I agree with you that all scripture is written FOR our learning, but you do agree that not all scripture is written TO us as instructions correct?
 
Not all of Scripture. The Law of Moses are not for Christians today. But this Thread was speaking of the teachings of Jesus. I believe that Jesus established the Church which is the New Covenant, and that would mean that his teachings were for us. Some of what was "instructions" in the Old Testament still has purpose for the Church today. I believe the 10 Commandments are still for the Church today.
I can only offer what I believe from what I read in Scripture. I am not an expert by any measurement. But to say that the teachings of Jesus are not for Christians today just seems unbelievable to me. Everything I have read of his teachings has a direct impact on my life, beliefs and faith.

Then can any of us also expect to be on 12 thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel at the end, as Matthew 19:28 stated?
 
I already explained that according to my understanding/belief. But, no, I do not expect to be sitting on a Throne judging anyone. I hope I am not tasked with that, because I know how unworthy I am to even be part of the family of God. This still does not mean that the teaching in that verse is not for us today.

As you said, all Scripture is for our learning. This shows the value of the teachings of Jesus for Christians today. And, since our learning is how we grow in our faith, it is proof to me that his teachings are for us today.

Basically Peter is reminding them that Moses prophesied that Jesus was the great prophet that God would raise for Israel, and they are to obey him (Acts 3:22).

So the Law pointed them to Jesus as their Messiah.

When you say law of Moses, that is include animal sacrifice.

My point was that the Law of Moses, on her own, did not directly command them to believe Jesus as the Son of God.

Many Jews don't regard Jesus as their promised Son of God, and is still waiting for their "true Son of God", even now at this time.

Yes, so whenever I read about the term "sheep" in Scripture, OT and NT, I take the term as directed more towards Israel and Jews, rather than for myself in the Body of Christ.

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

Jesus die for His sheep, and sheep mean Jews

So Jesus not die for you, is that you believe?

The gospels were about the messiah fulfilling the law. His primary audience was the Jewish men and women. Such as the bit about sacrifices. Jesus was setting the teachings of Moses straight and introducing aspects of the new covenant that was further lined out after his death and resurrection through his apostles.

Both.
it was wrote directly to the Jews and was for the Jews. That’s the audience. However, it spans past that as it’s taught the gospel will be heard to the ends of earth.

It was wrote to the Jews and for them but anyone can learn from it to better understand the epistles of the apostles.

He did, but that was not known during John 10.

What was known was Matthew 15:24 and Romans 15:8

Pointed is not the same as commanded.

Commanded means Moses telling them "There will be man called Jesus who comes from Nazarene in the year 30AD. Obey him".

Pointed is when you need to pierce the various clues given, before coming to the realization that, "Hey Jesus was that promised prophet".
