The problem is not in what catholics believe but what their church has done and is doing.
The Vatican protected and is still protecting sexual predators who are priests.
Second to that. We had a sex scandal in Belgium (Marc Dutroux), he and his family are surrounded by high members of the catholic church. As soon his wife got out of jail she got homed and nurtured by members of the catholic church.

The last pope resigned because he was bombarded with sexual scandals. The Vatican even said the victims were exagerrating.
It should be removed as head of christianity and named for what it is, a pedo sex club. It should be abolished and the riches should be given to the poor. As Christ would do

Well, as long as that is true, than Catholics can be considered saved.
It seems an anti-church is at the helm. There are mystic Saints who saw a Pope who is evil and takes charge of a Church (freemason beliefs) with a different teaching but outwardly looks the same. I see a hand full of Bishops with faith most are worldly .The problem is not in what catholics believe but what their church has done and is doing.

It was a multigenerational very organized infiltration that took over the seminaries. Then good seminarians the ones who disagree with this heresy of modernism couldn't get ordained. Pope Benedict wrote a book when he was a cardinal. Very sound theology. His book was banned in the seminaries.
The Catholic Church has been attacked from within for the last century.
If the Catholic Church represents all those who belong to Christ. It is right that judgement starts with her.
I personally can't think of any reason why I would want to concern myself with Mary's life whatsoever.
Mary was a vessel chosen by God to fulfill scripture and glorify God. There was and is absolutely no reason to interest myself, or tell others to concern themselves with the existence of Mary.
Praying to Mary is absolutely a no-no. It is praying to an idiol, and insinuates favoritism with the good Lord and we know that is not true. Thinking Mary was any holier than me or you is a grave mistake.
Mary was no more important to fulfill scripture than Judas.
Mary is dusr, and is home with the Father and can not hear your requests no more than a deaf demon.
Really Simeon the Prophet concerned himself. He thought about the Virgin eneogh to know her Son would unite her suffering with His own. Anyone else in Scripture got that?

You don't think much about Jesus do ya? You cant think of a good reason to have a sacred vessel for the Sacred ?God Incarnate in a vessel used for profane purposes. A dirty vessel even for God The Jewish mind wouldn't allow it.
Too bad. Can you imagine how much she would know that is mystery to us? Especially since her pondering is mentioned. She was the first follower of Jesus. There is so much of the Gospel story that came from her telling of it.

Sure a ton of disagreement is possible, but to deny they are Christians? That is denying the Holy Spirit

If one were to ask an average catholic why is he saved, what do think he would say?
I'm a protestant. But I stopped going to church years ago for a number of reasons:
1. Liberalism.
2. Prevalence of effeminate men.
3. It feels like all the churches I went to were allowing themselves to be influenced by worldly values - equality, tolerance, anti-racism, etc. If I wanted all that I could stay home. Don't need a church for that.
But I recently started going to a traditional latin Catholic mass. It is different:
1. I think the men are less effeminate.
2. The women are modest - all wear a head covering in church.
3. They are decidedly anti-communist.
4. Nobody wears a mask. No one is social distancing. Pews are packed.
5. The singing is truly beautiful. I don't know what they're saying because it's in latin, but it is very, very good.
Regarding the worshipping Mary stuff. I don't know. It's weird. They claim they aren't worshipping her. I take them at their word.
I think there is some value in tradition. It keeps you grounded. It helps keep you from getting influenced by fancy arguments of this of that speaker.
I'm uncomfortable with the whole confessional thing. I asked a seminarian whether Jesus forgave sin or if the priest does it. He said Jesus.
Eucharist is weird. I doesn't make sense to me. But I asked about it, and got an acceptable answer. Catholics have their reasons, and their reasons are legit - whether I agree or not. It's not like they're just stupid.
So the bottom line for me right now is that I'll continue going to traditional latin Catholic mass. I don't agree with everything. I don't know if I'll become Catholic. But I like the people. And I don't dread going to church anymore.

I was born and raised a Catholic but stopped attending mass many years ago because of a perception that certain doctrine that was contrary to scripture.
I have attended church service in many denominations but at the end of the service it felt like there was something missing. It is only when I attended Catholic mass that I felt truly at peace and always felt a certain calm.
The Mary stuff seems contrary to scripture but if if gives someone peace of mind, joy in their heart and a bounce in their step then I am not one to judge. Praying to Mary may have started because God was viewed as hard and at times unsensitive to the needs of the common person struggling in life and just trying to survive another day.
Growing up, the mass was always Latin rite but that changed in the mid 60's. I really didn't understand what the priest was saying but I always knew the Latin response. I found it very comforting and substantial.
During a rare confession many years ago I asked the priest what is the purpose of Holy Communion because if the Holy Spirit lives inside of you than what is the need and what does it accomplish? I was 47 at the time of this confession. It was not in a booth but in a comfortable relaxing setting. It probably had been at least 30 years since my last confession so I just gave a brief synopsis of my sins. For my penance I had to say 1 Our Father. He answered my question about communion saying "Son, it is just a mystery". Apparently he didn't get it either.
I believe also that there is value in tradition as long as it aligns with scripture. It does tend to keep ;you grounded as the keeping of tradition requires discipline.
I believe many low level catholics who have no RCC authority may be saved by simple faith in Jesus .. I will not listen to any priest who is forbidden to marry by a church .. And it is no disrespect to Mary if I see her as a normal Jewish mother of 5 sons and at least two daughters .. No one can prove Peter was ever in Rome or that he was crucified upside down ..
Yup.
Catholicism is harmed greatly by this. Hurting children is really, really bad. But molesting them while acting as God's representative is orders of magnitude worse. Pedo priests need to be brutally executed along with anyone who publicly mourns for them. There must be no hint of sympathy for them.

They also openly praise Lucifer. Making their believers believe it means morningstar referring to Jesus Christ. Morning star in Latin is Stella matutina. They get that translation out of the neo vulgate which has zero authority. So basicly they are worshippers of the devil soon to welcome the anti christ. They are building along with the rest of the elite on the platform where the anti christ can thrive.
They changed scripture, they changed their church to a worldy being, they rape children and praise lucifer.
It can not get more obvious then this. We as christians should always denounce that the Vatican is the head of christanity. We should always remind they are of their father the devil. Christ is the head of the church and the Vatican clearly threw Jesus out conforming to this world and protecting rapists.
This thread caught my eye (as I was raised Catholic) Your posting was ALSO RIGHT ON !!! I remember so well the teachings - confessions to the priest as often as possible, venial and mortal sin etc.etc. etc. After confessions kneeling before the Virgin Mary with direction from the priest of how many "Hail Mary's" to say.
At the time (not understanding why) I always felt empty. As I grew life was life (still empty) I was married AND in God's great mercy and love I attended a Methodist Church. It wasn't many later Sunday's thereafter I left my seat going to the front of the church (when an altar call was given) At the time I didn't even understand why, I just knew I needed to go to the front of the church.
God placed two dear friends (seated directly behind us) of whom explained to me later at lunch all about the God we serve, the altar call and acceptance of Christ. That was over 45 yrs. ago (showing age lol) but it was the most important decision I have ever made.
So I fully understand and agree with your posting. I've been there and am here now. I feel bad for those who, like myself at one time are caught up in the Catholic teachings. Prayerfully they too will follow God's direction for their lives. I had better close this posting I could go on and on. God Bless all.
It's the most horrible thing. To have such a dark violation done by the person of highest 'holiness'. There were predators who saw the Priesthood as a field of opportunity. Eighty plus percent of the victims are male teenagers.
Highest holiness ? Father, Holy Father ? Come on man !!! You don't believe that and neither does anybody in the RCC with any authority .. 1 Timothy 3 is the biblically correct way to choose your preacher ..

What else could be expected of men called venerable that lord it over the beliefs of others. . Its easy to see that Catholicism serves another gospel, after another teaching master (men) .Called a law of the father or Apostolic succession,. in doing so destroying the use of the word apostle . By venerating (worshiping) sinful men above that which is written And not the true authority in matters of faith (the unseen eternal) as it is written. . in the law and prophets (sola scriptura)
They clearly do despite to the grace of God. Teaching the pew sitters that this entity they call Mary the same queen that the Jews called Asherah. As a disembodied worker with a familiar spirit, patron saint (the foundation of necromancy) They as a law of the father say only this queen entity receives the fulness of grace,. the rest of mankind a unknown remnant. They teach the pew sitters must work to add to their incomplete grace .They can offer as a law of the fathers suffering even after they take their last breath of oxygen. They can continue again sufferings adding to a unknown toward the unknown goal . Never coming to fulfillment. This Mary entity even is said to visit them in their eternal sufferings in a place called Purgatory as in how low can limbo go.. ..She is reported to see even Protestants there also sufferings for a unknown.
The Bible does inform us there must be heresies or sects as denominations amongst us. But ones that do despite to grace .like the queen Mary as judgeable a dark place no light of the gospel .
The gospel can be offered in a hope they too will receive the fulness of f grace .No waiting period .A person must be born again .
1 Corinthians 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, "even" denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Catholics deny both verses above in exchange for a law of their fathers. They continue to serve a unknown God, a unknow amount of grace for a unknow time period .
