If I may butt in, the letter of James was written to "the twelve tribes scattered abroad". There were many people named James in that day, but the one mentioned in scripture was the brother of Christ who served as the head of the Christian church. That is the James who may have written this letter. It was written to Jewish Christians who were dispersed outside Israel.

This helps with our understanding of this scripture, but also we need to remember it is breathed by the Lord and therefore gives eternal truth.
Yes the letter was to Christian Jews, but it is applicable for us, faith without work is dead, it is also aplicable for us

So you believe there will be no more nation of Israel before second coming?

Where is the verse that tell that?

like most of his conjecture regarding the book of James, there is no support so why do we even answer at this point?

it's your thread of course, but it's already enough time wasted

thanks

No one was saved by faith alone, apart from works, (Romans 4:5), until Paul.

That was why James taught that faith required works, for salvation, in his chapter 2.

So you believe now, as long as you have faith, murder go to heaven, because only require faith?

I think what he meant is that Israel as a nation has fallen in the eyes of God now. They are considered as uncircumcised as all the gentiles. (Romans 11:11)

But God has not forgotten his covenant with their Father Abraham. Once the last gentile enter the body of Christ, he will return for them. (Romans 11:25-26)

Romans 11 have all the details you need.

Just need to know why he believe that

If you are asking whether murder will cause a Christian to lose his salvation, my answer is no

So you don't believe this verse

Galatians 5:21
“Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

I think many have already indicated to you to read on and you will see “such were some of you”

But why the obsession with murder? Why not envy and being drunk?

You don’t think Christians who get drunk will lose their salvation right?

Ok, how about drunk?
And you not answer my question, do you agree with this verse?

Paul was not talking about losing of salvation in that passage.

So you believe any Christian who is drunk will lose his salvation too? One who envies others also?

Not inherit the kingdom of God, mean go to heaven?

here is something we agree on. we agree because it needs no interpretation and is plainly written in chapter 2 of James

James 2:1
2 1 My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.
It seems to me that every Christian would be in agreement with every other Christian if they read scripture and didn't add to it with their own opinions about it but were humble before the Lord.

Not inherit the kingdom of God, mean go to heaven?

Since you believe that, what are all the sins you think Paul is saying they would disqualify one from heaven?

Murder
Getting drunk
Envying
Such like

The latter means there are many more sins. Do you really think Paul is trying to teach us that?

So you believe James wrote to the future Christian Jews?

Most Jews in Israel now aren't Christian.

So you believe those people that James wrote to are not exist yet

The term twelve tribes is a reference to the whole nation of Israel. It is never used as a reference to Christian Jews. Ever. To use it in this manner contradicts ever other usage in scripture. Are you ok with this?

that is not a problem

do you think that no one was saved until Paul? what nonsense to think that if Paul wrote his letter after James, we cannot compare them or understand better what they are saying

There is ONE Holy Spirit and He does not contradict Himself. there is no problem other than the one with you trying to state we should just ignore James and who knows what else

Ummm, you posted...”Purpose of Writing: Some think that this epistle was written in response to an overzealous interpretation of Paul’s teaching regarding faith.”

the Bible states the opposite

what nation was declared a nation in one day? which people did God gather from all the corners of the earth back to that nation?

hint: check in Deuteronomy, Psalms, Isaiah Ezekiel. you have missed quite a bit

Yes, these are references to the second coming.🤦‍♂️

yet, James calls these same people BELIEVERS in the 2nd chapter as I already pointed out to you

for you to ignore that and continue in error is an indication you refuse to be taught. I am not teaching or trying to teach. it is scripture itself that rebukes you and shows you that you are wrong. you ignore it and continue in error.

Quote Scripture, not a watered down false version. Stick with the KJV, THE word of God.
