I was watching 'Noah-The Last Days' series on Amazon and am worried about my working on the Sabbath day. After watching part 2
which talks about the covenant God made with Noah, his people entered into the Arc which is symbolized as the covenant. Part of the covenant was to keep the Sabbath holy, or sanctify, that day with rest and not to work. I work nights Sundays through Wednesdays and am worried after
watching this video. It stresses not working on Sundays.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
Well have no fear for you can work on Sunday, and eat pork if you want, because it is spiritual now and not a physical covenant.
In the Old Testament it was a physical covenant with physical blessings, so they had many physical laws that had to do with this earth.
But in the New Testament it is a spiritual covenant, and love is the fulfilling of the law, and only the moral laws, laws of love abide.
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isa 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
In the New Testament is a spiritual rest by the Holy Spirit, and not a physical day of rest, and that rest is everyday.
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
In the Old Testament it is a physical earth with a physical sabbath day, and physical rest.
Joh 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Jesus went away to prepare a new place for the saints, the New Jerusalem, which is a spiritual earth with a spiritual sabbath, and spiritual rest.
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Luk 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luk 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Jesus took the physical ordinances of Israel away for they were contrary to us for they had no bearing on spiritual salvation, so let no person judge you and say you have to keep the physical ordinances, which include the sabbath days, and meat.
For when a person receives the Holy Spirit the kingdom of God is within them, and they belong to that kingdom while on earth, so they are part of body of Christ, and the physical ordinances were only a shadow of things to come in the New Testament.
A person that has the Holy Spirit has that spiritual rest everyday so we do not have to physically rest on a certain day, and the Bible says do not let them judge you concerning the sabbath day to physically rest on that day.
In the Old Testament they could work on that day when it had to do with the needs of other people, but they could not work for their own profit.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
All meat is good in the New Testament.
