As was mentioned, "The Sabbath was made FOR man, not man for the Sabbath". The Sabbath was just given as a day off from work. Working seven days a week would be a grind that would eventually exhaust and mentally tire. Therefore, to keep it "holy" was to understand that to continue to work the complete week, without a day of rest, would be unprofitable physically. Man has taken this commandment and made it into a shrine, in which it was not intended.

Not factual historically, and neither is the statement factual scripturally.

The original Person to sabbath the 7th day was God (Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11). Then also see:

Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

The first "man" is Adam.

Then you can see many others long before Ellen G White who kept sabbath, the 7th day, including Patrick Of Ireland (that's right, 'St.' Patrick).

Another long before Ellen G White:

Thomas Tillam:

You might consider reading some historical sources (first hand, just making a kindly suggestion, really).
The original rest (sabbath) a non time sensitive word was reckoned from 7th day. According to the Exodus account it looked ahead to the new era of sabbath rest. On the first day according to the Deuteronomy account.

We know for certain it was a shadow of the eternal rest that we will receive when we do receive the promise of our new incorruptible bodies .. God does not use parables to reckon moral laws . The first day of the week is not set aside to judge one another as some sort of "sign gift". works righteousness. More of a shadow of the rest we experience when hearing his words that work in us giving us His understanding and not hardening our hearts in unbelief. No faith. No gospel. (Hebrew 4)

Exodus20: 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

The old reasoning creation.

Deuteronomy 5: 15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

The new reasoning the rest of the working leading men out of bondage into a new light.

A sign to the rebellious world a gospel call; "let there be children of light" a 40 year wilderness demonstration to the world Same demonstration performed today when any time we hear his voice and enter his rest making the load lighter.

The new era of Sabbaths the first day of the week

Exodus 40:2 "On the first day of the first month you are to set up the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting.

You could say with respect : Show time. "The greatest show on earth" let the ceremonial shadow begin

"Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk........And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. "

What does it mean to KEEP the sabbath?

But by no means I am trying to persuade anyone to change their beliefs, if they love God and are led by His Spirit they will be lead to all the truth.

which is what according to you? SDA doctrine?

thing is, someone says 'if' (the ones who do not agree with my personal doctrine, in your case SDA) actually love God AND are led by His Spirit, they will be led to all the truth (in this case insert SDA, another person maybe Pentecostal holiness, another person maybe Calvinist etc etc)

it's really not about all truth. it's really about the truth a person believes that is not actually biblical or maybe has a twist or a bit of rewording

that never makes it all truth for all people. that makes it the person's truth that they view as THE truth that everyone should believe in order to have THEIR truth which is THE truth ad infinitum

there is hope though. Jesus said I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE.

it is of significance to me that when people present views that do not line up with scripture and have some of the truth with a twist, they hardly ever talk about Jesus until you bring Him up and then we get a 'oh yeah! Jesus too of course...but look at this doctrine I am presenting though...'

My entire purpose is to be humble before the Lord, and using my own ideas without the Lord's say so is against everything I believe in. If I report scripture incorrectly, use scripture to say so as my words are based on scripture not on blaming people. You are out of line.
so what you are actually saying here, is what I just posted right up above this post. truth for you as you see it, even though it is a old and new testament mashup, is THE truth

you cannot be humble and insist everyone is wrong but you. that is the opposite of humble

further, you cannot combine testaments and say 'this is the way, walk in it' when scripture is 100% clear that your presentation is not the way and we should not walk in it. it would be like walking in the wilderness for 40 years...but that has already been done as an example of what happens if you do not believe what God actually states

we have come out of the wilderness and now have a spiritual walk, led by the Spirit of God, and we do not need sacrifices when the final and perfect sacrifice has been offered for all time

I view the mashup that people do, you are not the only one by far, as diabolical because that takes your eyes off Jesus and puts them straight dab right on yourself

that is what you do and because you do that, you are convinced everyone should do the same
